Hey guys, so I've been trying for a year now and not getting anywhere, I'm thinking of going to a private clinic to seek some advice, is there anyone in a similar boat want to share their story?

Hi Sazzy312,
I've just posted myself about TTC for a year (on and off!). I'm 38 and so need to act on it sooner rather than later. I've just invested in the Mira Fertility Tracker - is this something you have thought of?

It took me just over a year when trying in my early 30s. Got pregnant as soon as decided to stop trying!

Hi @Laurza, thanks for your comment, umm no I heart of that, can you tell me a bit more about it? Last month was our first using ovulation kit and it showed I ovulated which is great and roughly around the time I thought I did anyway so I felt it proved we have been doing the right things, I'll carry on with the kit this month, I have tried temperature chart but I find that quite stressful, I've had 3 mc so I'm not sure what is the problem if there is any, I feel like I'm gonna give it one last go then maybe go for a private consultation, have you got any children or is this your first? Have you tired anything else?

@happytoday73, ah they do say when you stop trying it works, and I think that has been the case for me but then ended in mc so it's maybe put me more on edge to 'try' but maybe after this month I won't bother, I'm glad you had your bfp😊

Thanks.
Yes I agree miscarriage puts you on edge. I waited longer for my second due to a miscarriage but again thinking about it caught before decided to try again. 🤔😜

In my area they refer you after 3 miscarriages... Have you spoke to your GP... At least to run some basic blood tests and start ball rolling? It's definitely worth that conversation... Even if they just tell you how long need to be trying before will take further
Good luck and I'm sorry about your losses...

I had my daughter at 33 (I'm now 37 not 38! Confused) without any trouble. The past year I've been using the occasional cycle of Clearblue ovulation kits that have all showed negative. I started to panic thinking I'm just not ovulating so I looked into different ovulation kits. Mira stood out to me as it gives your actual LH reading rather than just a smiley face or not. Mira is a small device that pairs via bluetooth to your phone. You use the Mira test wands (at times directed by the app) by putting one in your urine like a normal OPK stick but this one then goes into the Mira device. It takes 16 minutes to get the results which are sent straight to your app. It gives you an exact reading which will fit into 1 of 4 ranges....

0-4.72 LH (mIU/ml) = NONE
4.72-14.35 = LOW
14.35-33.38 = MEDIUM

33.8 = HIGH

From this you know exactly when your surge is. I got my yesterday (day 13 of my cycle) and did my first test. My result was 31.11 - Medium, so it told me to do another test in 6 hours as it 'detected a surge'. That one gave a reading of 194.06 - High, so I assume that was my peak! This morning I tested and my result was 7.16 - Low. It puts all of your data into a chart and also gives you a score out of 10 as to how fertile you should be at that point based on your LH level (it obviously can't detect any issues or say definitely that you released an egg etc) but do know the best time to have sex to give it your best chance. Here is a link for more info www.miracare.com/how-mira-works/
I'm obviously very early on with it, but it's the first time in a year that I've had some actual positivity that I may be ovulating!
