Bleeding but BFP

Hi all
First time posting, long time lurking.
Been TTC DC2 for 4+ years

I am currently in a bit of a whirlwind. I started spotting on Sunday, two days before AF was due and it was odd because it doesn't normally happen to me. It continued and I'm still spotting/bleeding very lightly. It's bright red and I don't really need any pads/tampons.

This morning I decided to take a test to rule out pregnancy because I was still feeling pain in my breasts (which would usually stop once period begins) and I've been tired and slightly nauseous.

It was positive, but light line 😵😵😵
I've been having some cramps and lower back ache so I'm not very hopeful. I also have a history of an ectopic so I'm very nervous about that.

Has anyone bled like this with slight cramps and still had a successful pregnancy?

Still bleeding and another faint positive this morning. Had a bloodtest today and waiting for the results, I'll hopefully get them tomorrow morning.

My investigative laparoscopic surgery next week has also been cancelled until we know more 😔

Aw I’ve no advice but just wanted to send you a hug, early pregnancy/conception is such a scary time and you’ve been TTC for so long, I really hope things work out for you. I’ve been there and it’s not fun xxx

It happened to me. We had been trying for a few months so I had fallen into the habit of testing a few days before I was due, I had a bfp at 10 dpo. Two days later I started to bleed quite heavily, bright red but no cramps. It lasted two days which I thought was odd for a period, especially when I'd had a positive test. Retested a week later and still positive. And a healthy little girl came 9 months later :-)

The first test I took was on 4th day of bleeding and one day after period should have started, so it wasn't the case of testing early and the test being faint because of that. It's unfortunately still faint today, 3rd day in a row.

It's sounding awful lot like an ectopic (although I didn't bleed at all with that last time, which is pretty rare) and the only thing I can do now is wait 😩

Little update on my situation.
I just feel like I need to write this down because I'm going a bit mental waiting and having no one else but DP to talk to 😩

My bloodtest on Thursday wasn't very promising. Progesterone 15 and HCG 47.

So I was sent for another one today and the doctor said we'd go from there. I'm anxiously waiting for the phone call now to hear the results.

I'm still "bleeding" mostly brown when I wipe.

The last pregnancy test I took (yesterday) was much darker than the other ones, but with the low numbers and bleeding I'm still worried about an ectopic.

If anyone has gone through similar or had low numbers like mine and it worked out, I'd love to hear that ❤️

I don't have any similar stories to share but I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you!

I got the results earlier and the doctor doesn't seem hopeful 😩

Progesterone 22 and HCG 100 (hcg doubled, but in 3 days not 2)

I'm having yet another bloodtest on Thursday and then a scan on Friday.

I'm going to drive myself mad before then 😂 and then I'm having all these mad pregnancy symptoms and I can't be happy about that or allow myself to enjoy it 😭

Gaaaaah 😵

Is it not possible that this pregnancy is just slow to progress?

The progesterone is abnormally low and if that's the case and also slow rising hcg it's most likely an indicator of an ectopic or an unviable pregnancy according to my doctor (and Google)

Of course it's always a possibility of slow progressing pregnancy and that's what I'm hoping for of course.

It's just not easy when you feel like a ticking time bomb. I almost died with my last ectopic and if I'd loose my remaining fallopian tube, I could never conceive naturally and IVF is not anything I'd be able to do any time soon.

Just to update (because I know how annoying it is when threads just end with no conclusion)

This is a miscarriage and they can't confirm whether it's ectopic or not.

The hcg levels went down in the last blood test so I'm being monitored until the pregnancy has resolved itself completely and then I'll have another scan to confirm everything looks fine.

So now it's just to wait for the inevitable 😔

Hi lovely- I missed the start of this thread but just wanted to send a virtual hug.

My 1st pregnancy was ectopic and sounds similar to yours, i then had a successful pregnancy the month after so was all a bit of a whirlwind.
Ttc number 2 now and every hint of a positive sends me into panic stations as it's something I want so much, but also fear.
Ivf is also something unlikely for us so i get the fear about loosing your remaining tube.
I hope the situation resolves itself quickly for you to end the limbo, and I'm here if you need a chat x
