Pregnant? At 40?!?

Hi everyone.

So firstly I want to say that I have been blessed and very lucky with my family. I have been married to my husband for 20 years and we have six beautiful boys aged between 3 years and 18 years old.
We had decided not to have any more children and have been using protection etc.
Anyway, today I had a positive test.
I honestly don't know how to feel, shocked, scared, my head is spinning.

I turned 40 last year, I never planned to be an older mum and now I'm pregnant with baby number 7???

I know our family and friends will judge us, they already think we are mad for having so many children. But we both have our own businesses and while it's not easy we cope and we feel we do a good job as parents.

Any older mums have any advice? Anyone have any advice at all? I've not even told my husband yet!

I dont think there is a stigma of having babies older now, I think I maybe pregnant now and I'm 44 in April, my new partner is 48 in May. We've decided that despite having grown up kids my youngest is 15 in April, with also a 16, 20 and 25 year old. We have been met with "your crazy" and good for you" "your risking disabilities" etc. Since you have a little one already, I doubt people will raise an eyebrow too much and if they do, who cares, dont live in GOOP (good opinion of people) you cannot please others. You are pregnant, enjoy it I say xx

Well I've been ttc since I was 39. I'm 42 this year. It's none of anyone else's business, although people always comment, you don't want another one at your age. Well I do. So stfu. I'm one of 8 children. I love it

Dont live your life for other people or you will regret it. Your not an older mom. You already have 6 so whats one more. Good luck.
