So because I'm a pee on a stick addict I tested the same urine with last months ovulation testing holder and with a new holder. New holder I've had the blank circle for two days. Old holder has been giving me the flashing smiley for 2 days. I'm cd 10. Which one is right and why are they different? Confused

Hi justpulledinalldirections I'm using the clearblue digital ovulation kit and I read that it takes a little while for the holder to get used to your body and levels so I would assume that the new holder is taking a few days to work out your levels, which the old holder would already know... Hope that makes sense. I was planning on always using the old holder because of this. Might be worth using the old holder to get the static smiley face and then use the new holder to see if it's picks it up on the same day? Does that make sense? Do you also use an app? I've been using clue and they've matched up perfectly for 3 cycles... I find on the day my app so I'm due to ovulate I have to do 2 tests as the morning is usually a flashing smiley face but by the evening it's a static one. Good luck x

Tbh I think my cycles are messed up because I had a missed miscarriage at the end of December at 11.5 weeks. This is why I'm driving myself nuts testing trying to figure out ovulation

I'd believe the old holder as that'll be already used to your hormone levels xx

The first stick you use in a new holder will always be a blank circle as it's reading your 'baseline'. I'm sure the advice is to always use a new holder for a new cycle as your hormone levels won't be exactly the same month by month, so it might not be accurate if you use last months holder which is linked to last months baseline.

it says to use a new holder in the instructions.

It says you can re use the holder
