Ovulation sticks

Can anyone make sense of this for me please. It’s the first month that I’ve tried these and feel like I’m going mad.
Last month my Flo app said that I was due to ovulate on 9th. I had pain that I assumed was ovulation on 6th and logged this causing it to change my predicted dates for this month.
This month showed as 6th. (Today) So tues and wed my ovulation sticks showed strong lines but not as strong as the control so I took them to mean negative.
Today, when I should be ovulating there is only a shadow.
Does that mean that I had already ovulated before Tuesday and that it was registering hormones decreasing? Or is it something else? I do have grumbly pains but nothing on the stick.

How often were you taking them? It's recommended to take every 4 hours when they get dark so it might be that you just missed the really dark line.

Those tests when positive mean you're going to ovulate in the next 12-36 hours so you may well have ovulate today.

Ah. It didn’t say that in the packaging. Thank you @GoldLeafTree
It looks like I may have missed it then. The darkest line was there at 5:30pm yesterday so maybe it was yesterday/this morning.

This whole TTC thing is so confusing.

Same happened to me but i am actually ovulating three days late.
I’d say until you spot a real positive You haven’t ovulated... keep doing them.

I had the same with ovulation sticks and so this month from the day coming off my period to what could be clearly defined as a positive OPK I just did them every day, there is an app called ferometer (or something like that) and you can take pictures of your sticks and it will tell you whether it's low, high or peak. I hadn't had a peak dark line in past months when my app days I'm ovulating but always had the twinges or pains. This month about a week later than expected I got such a clear line it couldn't be mistaken.... it was darker than the control line (I've attached a picture for reference)

Best of luck sorry for the essay 🙈

Thank you so much everyone. Maybe I will keep trying and see what happens.
I appreciate the answers and the picture is really helpful.

We didn’t have any of this when I fell pregnant with ds as it happened much more quickly than I expected.
I don’t think that’s helping as it has made me impatient and panic when it’s not been so quick this time.
DH works away for long periods so the pressure is on when out timetables happen to coincide.
