trying to conceive on honeymoon or wait to get back?

Should I wait as would like glass of wine or two whilst on honeymoon, am i being completely OTT to not drink at all whilst TCC? My mum tells me i'm being silly? Any thoughts?

Well whether it's right or not, I continued drinking as normal until I got a BFP.
All I would say is that if you are going to spend your entire honeymoon obsessed with conceiving, is that what you and your DH-to=be have agreed? Would you find it more relaxing to just enjoy the honeymoon and see what happens? (It will be the last relaxing holiday you have for the next 20 years

I agree with the others, drink wonderful wine, have a wonderful time with lots of wonderful sex and then see what happens! Have a fabulous time !

If you do decide to try to conceive and you feel so strongly about not drinking, then you'll prob find you don't really feel like alcohol anyway and you'll still enjoy your honeymmon.

sorry didn't word it well, meant more stop contraception (not on pill) and just see what happens, or continue being careful till we get back...although thinking about it more carefully likelyhood of us being sensible is slim! I know the likelyhood of falling pregnant that soon is next to nothing, just a worrier I guess!

I conceived on our honeymoon ( or wedding night, not exactly sure ) and I still drank while we were away.

I didn't know I was pregnant till we got back, but I'd had a few drinks over the 2 weeks we were away. I hadn't got completely hammered, just a bit giggly

Ds is now a blooming 9 months old, and shows no visible signs of harm!

My advice would be, drink in moderation, shag a lot - that's what honeymoons are for, after all - and see what happens.

Have a wonderful wedding, and lots of fun baby making afterwards!!!!

It was my first month off the pill in 11 years BTW, so it can happen!!

Well I tried for 2 years and decided that as it was Christmas I was going to have fun and drank a few glasses of wine at the staff party and Christmas Lunch and New Years eve (although it tasted bad!)
By New Years day I came out of my drunken haze to realise I was 6 days late
That was when I realised why the wine had tasted bad!

I stopped drinking straight away and DD is absolutely fine. Midwife said I was silly to worry over a few Christmas drinks and that they are more concerned about those necking a bottle of vodka a day.

Have fun and relax - you are more likely to have enough spontanious sex on honeymoon than the following months when you are back at work, ttc can be hard work so take the opportunity to make it happen while you are relaxed!

We started ttc on honeymoon, I figured that if I did get pregnant, by the time the fertilised egg implanted 6 days after ovulation it would be almost the end of the honeymoon anyway... depends what date you think you will ovulate I suppose. I think it would be perfectly fine to drink as long as it's not a full bottle of spirits everyday :) anyway we didn't get pregnant on honeymoon so hoping for this month! Xx

We started TTC on honeymoon. I think I was actually already pregnant. I drank (a lot) and smoked till I found out I was pregnant around 2 months later. Baby is now 5.5 and is fine.

i stopped contraception on honeymoon and got pg. go for it! don't binge drink, but certainly don't abstain.
