Elevated LH to FSH :(

Hey all,

Got bloods back yesterday showing I've got LH levels of 17.2 and FSH of 7 for day 3 of my cycle. The nurse suggested on the phone this could be a sign of PCOS. I was TTC most of last year with no joy. Never had a PCOS diagnosis or even really thought about it before but I do have some dark upper lip and chin hair, fair hair on rest of face, and bad skin (previously acne but now some milder spots). I'm 28 and I have regular cycles. My regular periods are what's throwing me off and making me worry it might be something else as I've read most women experience issues with menstruation (mine are like clockwork pretty much and light lasting about 3 or 4 days, although I do get clots despite them being light).

Anyone experiencing something similar?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear that you're worrying, @moondip - hopefully someone will be along soon. Flowers

Thank you for the message and support @LouMumsnet - I'm just trying to get into the frame of mind that worrying is utterly useless until I have more info, which will be when I have my appointment on the 21st. Until then just crossing everything and doing my research :)

@moondip your situation sounds very similar to mine a few months ago. No periods at all for 2-3 years led me to the dr, and the tests came back confirming pcos.
If it makes you feel better I was prescribed Clomid and conceived first month of it 💗
Your monthly bleed might not always be a proper period, as it’s possible from your hormone levels that you’re not ovulating each month.
I totally understand how you feel, I cried and worried for months - one dr actually told me it wouldn’t happen for me as it looked like early menopause!! I’m 27!! But I’m almost 17 weeks pregnant now, so a total Clomid success story!

@amysara24 Thanks for replying! I'm so very pleased to hear you conceived - massive congratulations! I will definitely ask about Clomid :)
