Miscarriage and impact to ovulation cycle

Hi,
I found out i was pregnant on new years eve, but unfortunately we miscarried at 8 weeks.
This was my first pregnancy, the midwife at the EPU advised us to wait until i have had 1 period before trying again.
I am just wondering what impact miscarriage has had on your cycle lengths, ovulation time etc.

I was tracking my cycles before and my average cycle is 32 days (sometimes extended to 34 days) with ovulation around day 20.
in December we DTD on the 10th (CD16) only, I imagine that i ovulated around the 14th/15th December. I got my BFP on CD37.

Will my cycle be the same? how soon after miscarrying should i start testing for ovulation?

Hi kona, first of all big hugs to you. I had a MC at 4 weeks last year, didn't test ovulation, however period was 28 days after MC started. Didn't wait to try again and conceived again the following month. Unfortunately MC at 6 weeks, again I didn't test ovulation however did have a period again after 28 days from start of MC. Waited 2 months and conceived again, now 11 weeks with my 12 week scan on Tuesday. Had scans throughout this pregnancy due to bleeding and all has looked fine with good growth and HB so hopefully all is well. After doing a lot of research there is no right or wrong answer to when you cycle will come back to normal or when to start trying again. There is conflicting information so just do what you think is right for you. I know it's devastating to MC but just try and remember most women have at least one in there lifetime and the odds are in your favour that your next pregnancy will be successful and healthy. Hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing, i am sorry for your losses. I can't imagine going through this again.
My instinct is telling me to just dive straight back in.

Good luck with your pregnancy.

Then if that's what you feel and your ready, go for it.

I miscarried on 30th dec also not had a period yet and 3 days late now feel pregnant again in fact I know I am but it’s too early to test I won’t get a positive so early it’s annoying had a faint BFP but then a bfn but this always happens with me I don’t get a proper postive until I’m 4 weeks plus cos that’s what the digital ones Have said both times when I’ve finally got a positive on a normal one line test. I googled it and a lot of when get pregnant right away with no period inbetween post miscarriage x

I miscarried on the 3rd Jan, also waiting on my period... although absolutely dreading it as know it will destroy me.
