Would the cervix feel any different to the normal 'after ovulation' if I was pregnant? Does anyone know or is this a silly Q..? Blush I'm either 6 or 7dpo and have had a lot of dull aching all in my lower abdomen for days now, and the odd twinge, tugging or pain. I don't know if that's just in prep for period but was wondering if cervix would give any sign at this point if I checked it with my finger? Thanks anyone who can help. Baby dust to you all x

Don’t check it yourself because any infection this early in pregnancy is definitely not a good thing. Generally after pregnancy your cervix will go a bit haywire and so there is no right or wrong answer to this - mine was low and hard for months (similar to how it is before a period).

Thanks lovely, good idea I'll probably leave it. Time will tell anyway won't it x

They say that if you are pregnant your cervix will feel a bit like the tip of your nose and if you're not it'll feel more like your lips... don't know how accurate this is but was right for me 🤣 in terms of infection I just made sure I washed my hands before checking or checked straight after a bath 😊 xx

@Byets Thanks for that info! Do you know what it would usually feel like after ovulation if you weren't pregnant tho? I'm wondering if it would feel the same as if you were - harder like the tip of your nose (my mother has told me that one before too haha!)

My cervix disappeared high up, that's the first different thing I noticed x

@Ellabella234 I think they say if you've conceived after ovulation that the cervix stays high up and will be tightly closed! If you haven't conceived it will return back to the low position! I'm no expert at all this is just all the crazy stuff I googled for hours when ttc!🤣 xx

@byets.... hi, when I ovulate I get full like period pains down there. It ache slightly.. also when I ovulate(depending one what side the egg is realising from) I get pain in my stomach.. but like someone said in a post. Don't try check it yourself, if you feel worried about anything I say book yourself a doctors appointment and get them to check. Hope all goes well

Put it this way, you wouldn't be asking your DH to disinfect his penis if you had sex now, would you? Wink so I really can't see how clean hands are going to be any infection risk if you check your cervix.

Good luck btw and fingers crossed for a BFP!
