Hi ladies,
I am thinking about starting charting my basal body temperature and it would be great to hear your experience...
Does anyone feel that it made the difference on their TTC journey? (Thumbs up)
Or did you feel it just encouraged your obsession and you focused too much on how much you want to conceive? (Thumbs down)
Also, what app is your favourite to use for charting? Any favourite thermometer?
Sorry for the beginner questions - i googled lots of articles but i am after personal experiences!
Thanks

It’s a good way to know what actually going on, your cycle health and your general health. It can show you’ve actually ovulated (which OPKs cannot).

Taking Charge if Your Fertility the heft book you guide you.

*best book!

And get a few cheap BBT thermometers so they’re handy. Any with 2 decimal places, and which have memory.

@Livingmagicallyagain thanks for your reply! I ordered the book and just started reading it this morning. Omg i am hooked! It feels great to start to understand my body more and actually take control of this fertility journey... i actually feel excited about this cycle which is a welcomed change! Thank you

@Rybenka you are so welcome! I remember feeling like that!!! Every woman should read that book!!

Good luck with it all!! I just got my BFP which I suspected after seeing an implantation dip in my chart, then a tri-phasic bbt pattern, otherwise I wouldn’t have known to test!!

Worked for me 17 years ago!

I don't think it made much difference to me TTC but it gave me reassurance that I was ovulating and my cycle was an ok length. When/if we try for no. 2 I probably won't bother charting.

I found OPKs more useful for timing than charting as they gave some advance warning when I was going to ovulate whereas charting I could only really tell when ovulation had happened at the end of a cycle.

Funnily though the cycle that I conceived my DD I ovulated on cycle day 10 which was before I started using OPKs. I then didn't believe the temperature rise and thought I'd messed up taking my BBT somehow.
