Hey all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I’m in my mid 30s and finally made the decision that I’d like to start a family (DH is very happy, has always wanted kids). I’d always ummed and ahhed but something has hit me in the last few months and I finally feel broody. I’m genuinely looking forward to starting a family.
Problem is, I don’t really know where to start!

Not on contraception (have used condoms and avoiding ovulation which I track on my phone) so don’t need to come off anything. Do we just do the deed when my phone estimates I’m ovulating?

I have two hen dos in May so was thinking of starting to try after those, in June? Is there anything I can do to prepare before that?

Sorry for all the questions, just feel a bit lost but also a bit excited!

Thanks

Yay congrats on the start of your journey :)
Start taking folic acid now , and whenever you’re ready to start after the hen do’s , DTD every 2-3 days from the day your period finishes . Don’t just do it when your phone says you’re most fertile because it can vary each month and you could easily miss it . Don’t stress , take it easy and enjoy . Good luck. I got pregnant on the week where we only had sex once 5 days before predicted ovulation as life got busy and we weren’t tracking , just took it easy . It happens when you least expect it :) cut out caffeine too x
