TTC and new job

Hi, I’m having a bit of a dilemma, I recently started a new job in November and me and my partner both agreed that when I pass my probation in February we will start TTC (trying to conceive). However I am now 2 months in and hate it but really don’t want to put off starting a family. I am not sure wether to just stick it out, hope we get pregnant quickly and then I can take my maternity leave when ready, or if I should look for a new job now and hope I am still entitled to some kind of maternity pay. Really stuck on what I should do!

I was in the same situation, I had a 3 month notice period and didn't want to wait to TTC. It just so happens I got pregnant instantly. Work then became a bit easier as I knew I would be on MAT leave soon and people went easier on me given my pregnancy.
I believe you can get SMP as long as you don't start a new job pregnant. You will be able to get MA if not which is the same!

Check the maternity policy of your current company

Thank you, I never really thought about MA, I will have a look into that. My current company is only a small family run business so they don’t have any benefits etc, it would just be SMP from government I would get.
