Hello! I used these last month and all was fine. Bought a new pack for this month. Today is cd11 and I used them for the first time this morning- got a static smiley. Dtd but am worried. Two things - firstly isn’t it always supposed to be an empty circle when you first use it for the month as it is establishing your baseline and secondly if I am ovulating isn’t that very early?? Hello. I've just been using CB OPK for 3 cycle so I don't know if I really know how it works. Anyway. Just wondering if you use the old reader for the new cycle? X

Maybe get the internet cheapie strips to back it up? That is the only way you'd know. I'm jot 100% convinced about the CB digital ones... the cheap strip ones are much more realistic as you can see exactly as your LH rises and drops.

Also on what CD did you get the static smile last month?
My cycle is always regular and I get the static smile always on the same CD (or before or after the expected day).

Hi @lightness2019 and everyone else, can I ask where you got your CB OPKs from? I'm wondering about buying from Amazon as they're cheaper but the reviews say they are sometimes reliable. This may be what's happened to you? (I don't know as I've never tried them before but hoping to this cycle). Sorry I can't help x

@danielasummer I've had 3 lots from Amazon and all worked fine

Look my CB got my cycles right second time.... if it’s a static smiley it’s a static smiley and that’s when you DTD if you are TTC.

I used cheap OPKs and they gave me a totally different read to the CB so avoid them.

You’re using what I think is probably the best “home” way to track if you’re ovulating or not.

@Lightness2019 hey! Did you use the same reader from you’re previous pack? I have read you should use the same reader.
I got a static smiley 3 days before I ovulated this month according to temps but I did take a cheapie as well and that was positive too.
So it could be possible that you might not ov until cd14? Which would mean it’s right on time for most people! I’d suggest testing with a cheap one if you can x

Thanks so much for the responses! I got a new reader - didn’t know I could re-use the old one and also can you just buy the sticks without the reader? It does feel like I am ovulating and had what I think is ewcm yesterday. It’s a couple of days earlier than last month which is why I am unsure. I have a shorter 26 day cycle though.

Have bought some cheapies this lunchtime and will do that in a bit to see...

Am really bad at peeing on a stick. Not much better at peeing into a cup though...

I am even more confused as Googled it and apparently you can’t get a static smiley on the first day of using the digital ones but I did...

Did a cheapie strip one and it showed a line but not as dark as the control.

I buy mine from Amazon, no problems with them at all. I use my original reader and just use sticks out of new box. Unfortunately you can't buy the sticks without the reader which seems a massive environmental issue.
I was under the impression you couldn't get a static in first go (with new reader) so not sure whats happened there.
Do you still have the original reader or did you bin it?

Going to have to dtd and keep going I think. Will keep going with cheapie strips and hope for the best - and also do the clear blue in the morning and see what happens
