I have irregular and infrequent periods.

Around when I was thinking my period would come (because I had my usual ovulation like pains around 14 days prior), I started getting pink discharge. A day later I began (what seemed like) a normal period. It was very sore (like usual) and a medium flow (like usual) for two days.

I am now on day 5 and I’ve stopped bleeding like a period, but still have blood when I wipe with quite a lot of small...lumps of discharge and clots (sorry. So gross).

Anyway, for the last hour or so, I’ve started experiencing what feels like period cramps again. My periods always last only 3 days, so I’m confused and worried.

Had I just had a longer period than usual, I wouldn’t have really thought much of it, but paired with the cramping now in my lower groin, I have concerns.

We have been TTC for 4.5 years and I have had one chemical pregnancy in that time (about 2 years ago), so I’m worried.

Any thoughts please? Could this have been implantation, or would I have noticed it being much lighter and less painful than a period?

I am so confused! Thanks.

I think it's unlikely to be implantation bleeding from what you have described, sorry. Implantation bleeding usually is very light and only lasts a couple of days max. Probably just a weird period, sorry probably not what you want to hear. Really hope you get your BFP soon x

Thanks for your response.

Yes. I was thinking it probably wasn’t implantation bleeding, but was confused. I’m thinking possibly a chemical pregnancy, as I have had one before I’m sure it was like this maybe.

Thanks lots! You too :) we are starting IVF in Feb, so all good. All the best!
