Hi to all those TTCers out there!

Please anyone feel free to join and talk about your TTC journey!

Anyone sick of seeing the blinking smiley face I'm on day 6 of blinking smiley and is making me feel so disheartened! Any of you had this and how long did your blinking smiley last for?

A bit about me
I'm 28 and my husband and I are TTC baby #1 my cycles aren't regular so the ovulation thing is a frustrating time.
Hoping this month is our lucky month as we are going to visit my parents overseas and would love to tell them we are expecting!

Hope you hear from some of you soon!

The month I conceived I had over a week of flashing smileys and no static so it can happen!

Jessiebells · 16/01/2020 21:52

Thanks for replying @Cacaca oh wow that's interesting! Maybe I will be like you and not get a static

Fingers crossed - that month was probably one of the most soul destroying - testing everyday and that bloody flashing face.

Sammyclaire22 · 17/01/2020 18:01

Can the cb be affected by things like how diluted your urine is? Could be you've had a peak but it's not quite picked it up?

Wearenotyourkind · 17/01/2020 18:26

Hi - I'm on my 1st month using CB OPKs instead of ICs. I had 7 days of flashing smileys before I got my peak today.

Beau2020x · 17/01/2020 20:39

Are you testing twice a day? I always test twice a day as soon as I get the flashing smiley. I had 8 days flashing smiley this cycle and static smiley on the 9th day of testing.

If you don't test twice a day you will probably miss your peak. For example this week I tested PM and it was negative, next morning was peak and then 6 hours later it was negative again. This was on the strip tests.

I had 9 days of flashing smiley, it was after a CP so assumed it had messed it up. Got a solid smiley in the afternoon of day 9 and found out I was pregnant 11 days later. Hope you get a solid smiley soon, good luck!

The month i conceived i had no flashing nevermind a static, was sure i hadnt ovulated or i had totally missed it. Easier said than done but try not to get too hung up on them

Jessiebells · 17/01/2020 23:05

@Cacaca
Thank you so much 🤞🏼

@Sammyclaire22
I am doing first morning urine but still get that silly blinking face! Have you used clearblue too? Are you TTC?

@Wearenotyourkind
Oh really! That's interesting to know, I have heard the first time you use clearblue ovulation test it only needs a small amount of Estrogen to rise to get the blinking face. Is this your first baby you are trying for? Baby dust to you!

@Beau2020x
I have been since I got flashing just with a cheapy and some days clearblue if I think my body is showing signs of ovulation but CB just so expensive!! Was that your first time using CB that you got static on 9th day?

@Lf89
Oh wow everyone seems to get quite a long stream of flashing smileys then I'm not the only one. Congrats! Hope I get lucky this month

@mrsc1987
Congrats!! Well just goes to show they can't be correct all the time then, trying not to pull my hair out and to be fair chat groups like this are a good way to make you feel so so crazy and that it's all normal. Best of luck with your pregnancy Smile

@Jessiebells thank you, it does show they dont always work. I was about to contact the manufacturer and complain I'd spent money on a useless product and everything haha. I did have some luck with cheapies that month but relied so hard on my clearblue. Wishing you the best of luck.

Sussexbythesea84 · 18/01/2020 08:23

After a misscarriage in September I was quick lay back into my regular cycles. But this month is different, slightly earlier period, and now a full week of Circles using CB tests.

I’m at my breaking point now, I’m so sad and feeling like my mental health is falling apart. My GP has said they won’t help us because we have a 3 year old daughter. We’ve been trying since November 2018.

Any advice or words of wisdom would be great.

Sorry for the rant

Wearenotyourkind · 18/01/2020 09:11

@Jessiebells
Yes TTC 1st baby and we've been trying now for 6 months. I'm 34 and my husband is 38. Baby dust to you too!

Trying2019 · 18/01/2020 09:22

@Jessiebells i test twice a day once i get my flashing. I use an internet cheapy for the 2nd time and if it looks dark use the same urine for the CB to confirm. If i didnt do this id miss my peak as my LH rises then falls quickly. The CB wont realise its missed the peak and just continue to flash. Good luck ☺☺

Beau2020x · 18/01/2020 09:27

@Jessiebells no I used them the month previous and had 2 flashing days before the static smiley. This time I started using them too early I think so got the internet cheapies to back it up. I actually MUCH prefer the internet ones as you can visually see your surge and drops whereas clear blue just gives you 2 peak days

Jessiebells · 18/01/2020 17:33

@Sussexbythesea84
So sorry about your MC 😞
I am quite shocked the doctors won't do anything!! Have they offered to check blood for any hormonal imbalance? Or any underlying issues? I feel for you it's so draining when your period comes. One of my friends take some natural ovary tablets which she got on amazon, she got pregnant not long after using them, could try taking something like that? Wishing you all the best and baby dust. If you ever want to chat about it please do! Xx
