Period cramps after short AF

I tested on Tuesday and got a faint positive and AF arrived the day after. Only it lasted 2 days instead of 4 and only filled half my cup. Since then I've had back ache on one side and period like cramps that seem to be getting worse. Went to the GP today and she booked me in for a scan to check ovaries and everything and did a PT but came back negative (I'd just had a wee before hand) what could be causing this pain? I feel like my periods about to come! My boobs are heavy and sore I don't get it?

I had a short AF and now a week after I’m having such bad cramps, low back ache. I never even have this pain on a normal period. I’ve done test but BFN. Doctor has prescribed me some tablets to help with the pain but it doesn’t explain anything and I feel but naffed off because this is only going to mask it.

@2495drew how many dpo are you? Perhaps you are pregnant but don’t have enough HcG yet to show up on a test?
I’ve read a few threads on here where women haven’t had their bfp until upto a week after their period was due.

But more info - I did a test whilst on af because it was just a really weird period to me. Negative. Did one this morning and again negative. So I have two apps I check my periods with. I was relying on only one this month thinking that’s the one I always use but last night it dawned on me I actually use my Fitbit one. Fitbit said my period isn’t due to start till this coming Monday. So I had a af that was short and light when I was due in one app (also had cramps two days before)
But the other app would indicate I bled early.

Sorry to confuse! I never get stomach cramps with periods (I have the pain in legs) just feel like period coming and it’s dragging down below x
