Hi all,
Just wondered - how long did you take/did you take folic acid for before starting TTC? I've been taking it for a month now and anxious to start due to my age, but am aware that the optimum is to take folic acid for 2 to 3 months. What did/would you do, please?
Thanks!

Hi I started taking folic acid and baby aspirin and also pregnacare vitamins the day I got my implant removed that was 7th of October started ttc that afternoon! I didn't know it was something people started taking before they started ttc its been 3 months well 14 weeks and still waiting for my bfp I think it doesn't matter when you start ttc it's important that you've given your body the chance to get ready for it on the pregnacare box it tells you up to 3 months before ttc start taking them but I think you could start straight away even if it takes a while to get your bfp your body will be ready for it and recommend to continue to take folic acid until 12 weeks of pregnancy but I'd continue with it just to be on the safe side! Hope this helps x

Thanks so much for replying (and good luck to you !). Would put my mind to rest to know if other folk have not taken folic acid for long before ttc too. Obviously I know that it’s highly likely that it will take a long time for anything to happen anyway (if at all), but in the slim chance that we were lucky early on I don’t want to be panicking that I didn’t start the folic acid early enough.

Just crack on love. It's not that important how long you've done it for, just keep taking them. Good luck x
