Spotting during cycle

Hi - looking to see if anyone has had similar experiences.

I have regular 42 day cycles which makes it hard to tell when I’m ovulating. This month I tried the Clearblue digital ov tests for the first time and got flashing smileys 11 days in a row but no solid smiley (and ran out of tests!). The flashing smileys were from CD19-29.

On CD20 I had what felt like ov pains and from CD21-23 I had spotting and a bit of ewcm so just assumed this was ovulation.

Now from CD31-35 I have had more spotting. Hoped it might be implantation spotting so tested this morning (4 days after spotting started) and got BFN.

Saw my GP on Friday and she thought I might ovulate around CD30-32 because of long cycles. So maybe this is ovulation spotting. But, if so, what was the previous spotting?! It’s making me a bit worried. I’m v lucky that my GP is great and has booked me in for blood tests next week (when AF is due) as we discussed the possibility of PCOS.

But anyone have multiple days of spotting during cycle?

Thanks

I spot every cycle. Usually when I ovulate but also during the luteal phase nearer the end. Every single month. Some worse than others. Dr can't work out why.

I have spotting too and it seems to be increasing. Seems to be happening for atleast 11 days up until period. Get disappointed everytime I see it as I know I'm not pregnant. Had blood test and scan and am awaiting results. Feel so nervous something is wrong

Thanks for replying. @paintfairy does the doctor think it’s a problem and effecting you’re chances of conceiving?

@Hllouise1702 Hope your results are ok! How long have you been trying? We’re just under a year so I was really happy my doc is being proactive about tests. But it is scary to think they’ll find something wrong.

They didn't seem concerned. I guess if we didn't manage to conceive they might look into it further but no one ever seems to care much about anything!
I've had 2 scans though and blood tests on day 2 of cycle. All normal. The only other thing they could do would be to blood test on 21, which they haven't.

I'm on cycle 5 now so not that long but does get frustrating

Hllouise1702 · 15/01/2020 17:19

Update had scan results and doctor coded it as Polycystic ovaries and hadn't requested to see me. So I've booked an appointment as I'm like well can you explain what that means for me. Blood test was normal

Are your periods irregular or long cycles? Useless bloody dr! I got told mine looked ok, but they only scanned externally. However I had 2 and both showed ok. But how much you can actually trust them, I don't know!

Hllouise1702 · 15/01/2020 18:40

They're regular - between 25 and 27 days but very light and only for 2 days. Before pill they were irregular at times and sometimes lasted 7 days

paintfairy · 15/01/2020 19:35

Are you ovulating? I worry because mine are short and light. But I do ovulate. My friend has polycystic ovaries and her cycles are very irregular and she doesn't always ovulate. I suppose it depends on the severity of it? But if you have regular cycles and ovulate then it doesn't sound like TTC should be impossible?

How long before you can get to speak to your Dr?

Hllouise1702 · 15/01/2020 20:48

I don't know if I am or not. Thats what I'm concerned about. I had the blood test at day two of my cycle not sure if that would have tested for ovulation. But also I feel like I could get ovulation sticks but heard they don't necessarily confirm that either. I'm going to the doctor next Thursday so I'll ask about ovulation then
