HELP! Ovulation Test Reading?

Ladies can you help, whats your opinion?

Positive clear blue standard pink tests but negative advanced test. Same urine sample.

Just to also fill you in with my experience. For two months of using the advanced connected test i had nothing but flashing smiley faces or negative results. I was then recommended the standard pink test that only detects the LH surge. Today, cycle day 20 i got my peak! But, conflicting result? I have an average 31 day cycle.

@Hol54321
Oh I am going through hell with CB ovulation testing. I use the pink and purple one also and they conflict one another makes me wonder what to believe. That sounds about right sort of timing with your ovulating though, have you had any CM? Have you tried the cheap ones from amazon? I watched a million vids on YouTube and people favour them! Also try take your BBT every morning before you even get out of bed, I brought one from amazon also called Femometer it had an app so can see the chart.
Best of luck!

@Jessiebells thanks for being the first to comment! Honestly they seem to drive a lot of people mad. They're not cheap either! If we don't conceive this month I will definitely try the cheaper tests. Just can't understand how one can be positive and the other not. I honestly think it makes itself over complicated when trying to detect the oestrogen and LH. I think the pink test that only detects LH is better but I did only get one positive with my first urine of the day. Have been DTD days before this result so hopefully it might happen for us this time! Good luck too! Reply any time you need a chat!

It’s so frustrating isn’t it! I got negative on cb advanced on my cycle day 10 and continued until cycle day 14 I got a “peak fertility” so no lead up with the “high fertility” then negative with everything else until then cycle day 20 I got a “high fertility” and cycle day 21 the same. I was thinking what is going on here!! I find the pink test much more actuate! Glad you got your smiley face Smile

Hol54321 · 13/01/2020 17:32

That's very annoying bless you. Yeah when I used the advanced it was negative on the first day then just a flashing smiley every day afterwards. I even contuned with them incase I was having an odly long cycle or something.
Are you still TTC this month? Now that i've entered 12th Jan as positive OPK on the Clue app, it says my period is due 27th Jan - let's hope it never comes! x

@Hol54321 I found with the CB purple ones is that if you didn't start it at the correct point in your cycle it messed the whole thing up. 1st time I used mine correctly I got 4 negative days, 2 days flashing and then the static. This time I started too late and got one negative day and then flashing smiley for the last 5 days no sign of static and I'm only 2 days off predicted ovulation. I've been using internet cheap strips to back it up for this exact reason.

Hol54321 · 15/01/2020 16:28

@Beau2020x How did you get on, did you get your peak and if so was that using CB or cheap ones? I definitely got mine on 12th Jan as used two tests morning and evening in the end :)

Hey @Hol54321! Nooo not yet I'm getting sooo impatient!! I've had high flashing smiley on CB for the last week almost. Cheap OPK strips are not there yet - I don't think I'll get my peak until tomorrow night/friday at the earliest.

Hol54321 · 15/01/2020 16:51

Ah don't worry! I didn't see mine until cycle day 20 so just keep going @beau2020x
I never saw a peak with the flashing tests but they work really well for some. Glad your doing the cheap tests too just to compare.
How long have you been TTC? :)

I got mine off eBay! Super sensitive. Was spot on! I conceived within a month of using them. Very cheap. Like £2 for 10?

Beau2020x · 15/01/2020 17:44

I have always ovulated CD14-15 so going to CD17 is a long one for me 🙈 I'm only worried because I only had my first normal cycle last month. My LP has been so short the 4 cycles previous.

I'm on cycle 5 - how about you?

I used the clear blue advanced one and found it really good. I started testing a bit earlier than my fertile window and got the negative which was to be expected, also you need to do this so that the holder can get a base level to compare against. Then as soon as I got a flashing smiley I started testing twice a day, morning and evening and on the 6th day of flashing smiley I got a static smiley in the evening, which also tied in with my apps and me having EWCM.
Time will tell I guess because its only my first month ttc but it got my ovulation spot on. The key is to test earlier when you know it will be negative to get that base level.

I used an app called Natural Cycles (not a plug just a genuine person who's used it and rates it) to help conceive my 9 month old, we got pregnant the first month of trying.
We recently just decided to start trying for another so I will let you know how I get on, but when trying to conceive the last time I also used the ovulation sticks (not clear blue, just cheap ones from boots) and didn't get a single positive reading. I found them megaaaaa stressful as they're just not even reliable enough.
