Implantation bleeding - is it really that common?

So, asking peoples experience of implantation bleeding?? I read that it only usually happens in around 25% of pregnancies but on here it seems most people are having/have had implantation bleeding before their BFP.

Only asking because I'm now 8dpo and obsessively checking toilet paper after a wee wipe!!

Thank you

I don't know the answer, but I'm 7dpo and also checking my toilet paper every time haha!
Did have a sharp stabbing pain that only lasted a few seconds today, so hoping I'm not just symptom checking....

mrsrichy · 07/01/2020 19:40

I'd like to know the answer to this too! I'm 7DPO today but have had no symptoms!

gg321 · 07/01/2020 19:43

I have never had implantation bleeding in two pregnancies so I wouldn’t worry

ec1993 · 07/01/2020 19:44

I had it with my current pregnancy. Brown/pink CM when checking my cervix around 7DPO and tested positive 9DPO but never in previous pregnancies. Good luck and fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 xxx

CmdrCressidaDuck · 07/01/2020 19:46

I've been pregnant quite a few times, and the only time I ever had implantation bleeding was the time I miscarried.

Lf89 · 07/01/2020 19:48

I didn't have any but kept checking the toilet paper like you. Got my BFP at 11DPO.

Daisydays1 · 07/01/2020 19:53

This cycle
7dpo at night had two spots of pinky/red
8dpo brown watery discharge when wiping
9dpo(today) brown watery discharge when wiping
Done a test today 9dpo but guessing to early really to tell, due af on sunday

I know it probably not likely I pregnant but can only hope I guess, hoping not Af

I had two other childfren and never had implantation bleeding before

Sammyclaire22 · 07/01/2020 20:00

I had slight staining 9dpo and 10dpo and then bfp later that day, so I always check from 7dpo onwards!

Dollywantsareallifedolly · 08/01/2020 07:33

Thanks everyone Grin so it seems it is kind of a mixed bag!

@CmdrCressidaDuck I am so sorry to hear about your MC Flowers xxx

I was also wondering this. I'm currently a POAS 6DPO kind of crazy. Why is the TWW such a drag?!

Soawesome · 08/01/2020 07:42

I had 3 m/C's first and had no implantation bleed.
I then had two successful pregnancies and had an implantation bleed in both on the day my period was due.
No idea whether any of it was coincidental.

CmdrCressidaDuck · 08/01/2020 11:48

Thanks Dolly - don't worry, it was a long time ago and I've had my children subsequently so I'm not affected by it any more - was my first ever pregnancy. I mention it only because the presence or absence of implantation bleeding doesn't really signify anything - certainly not a successful pregnancy!

Lilice · 08/01/2020 22:41

I had implentation bleeding with my first but not my second.

beaniesunrise · 09/01/2020 12:44

I think I may have had implementation spotting on 6dpo for like an hour, saw pinhead spots on tissue when wiping but can't be sure! This is my 1st ttc

Whyhaveidonethis · 09/01/2020 13:00

Didn't have it with my 3dc but have had it twice when I've had 3 chemicals

LimpLettice · 09/01/2020 14:29

I've had IB (I assume from spotting and timing) in my last 3 pregnancies. I think it might be fairly common on these board coz so many are symptom spotting constantly, scrutinising knickers and loo roll etc. Whereas less obsessed people probably don't eyeball everything quite so closely!

TeaAndCake30 · 09/01/2020 14:34

I had it lasting 7 days, and assumed it was just my usual pre-period spotting. However it started to tail off instead of progressing into a period, which prompted me to test and get a positive. Good luck!

BoomyBooms · 09/01/2020 14:44

I had it! Thought it was an oddly timed, weirdly short period. Relatively light by my standards but not so far out of the ordinary. I only realised what it was when I had my dating scan!

blackcat86 · 09/01/2020 14:47

I had it for about an hour 4 days before my BFP. It was light but enough for me to need a panty liner.

pollysproggle · 09/01/2020 15:24

I'm on my third pregnancy OP and I've never had an implantation bleed during the TWW.
With my first baby I had a brownish bleed and went to epu where I was told it was implantation bleeding but I was already nearly 8 weeks by then.

Leasy · 09/01/2020 17:04

I had it with my first at 8dpo, with my second I never noticed so it's possible to have it but not every pregnancy will. Try not to obsess (I know, super difficult), you're not out until AF shows Smile

Leasy · 09/01/2020 17:05

Forgot to add, with my first it was a subtle streak of red, not hugely noticeable and that was it

nespressowoo · 09/01/2020 17:26

I've been pregnant three times, miscarried twice. I had it with my last pregnancy which sadly ended as a missed miscarriage.

Trixie121 · 09/01/2020 18:27

Iv been pregnant 3 times. The first I had my daughter, the second ending in miscarage and I am currently 8 weeks pregnant now. I had really light bleeding in my first pregnancy but it was literally just a couple of spots when I wiped and a few spots on my underwear and that was it, but this alerted me to something going on cause I never spot. My other pregnancy's not a thing, no signs at all except for missing my period.

KT250 · 09/01/2020 18:29

I have been pregnant three times. The first I had an early miscarriage and no implantation bleeding. I think my body wasnt ready for pregnancy that time! With my first baby I had red bleeding, just once like the start of a period, 2 days before my period was due. I thought it was my period coming early. With my second baby, I had brown spotting when I was already 6 or 7 weeks pregnant. Each one has been very different!
