Hey ladies,

Posted on a few threads but think it's about the time I might know what I'm sorta on about! Ha!

Looking for some TTC Buddies I can what's app :-)

A bit about me, I'm 28.. 29 in April.. my husband is a year younger than me. We've been married just over a year and together for 9 years this July.

I came off the pill Cerelle 24th November after years of the pill then implant and then the pill again. Never had periods on any. Just a few withdrawals when I missed a few pills.

Anyway! Been actively TTC since my withdrawal bleed 25-29th November.

Finally after a December of no Flo she's arrived today. So finally I can accurately start trying to track on Ovia! GrinGrin

What's your story?

God I love you people 😂😂😂😂

Wise0wl · 26/01/2020 20:22

@MimiArm I’m with your OH on that - Doing ‘damp’ January (not quite dry...) for that very reason!

littletandme · 26/01/2020 20:27

@Wise0wl is that a euphemism? 😂

Hatepickinganame · 26/01/2020 20:31

@Eatsleepbakerepeat hi and welcome, i dont use ov sticks but some of these wonderful women do so im sure one of them can help you out 😊

Getting drunk sounds like a plan, does it work if only one of us is hammered though? Dont think oh can get drunk 😂😂😂

MimiArm · 26/01/2020 20:31

@Eatsleepbakerepeat Hi! I'm by no means an expert at all as this is my first cycle trying but I used ovulation test (clear blue digital) and it was pretty straightforward. I had 5 days high fertility then it found my peak day on Monday so I think I most likely ovulated on Tuesday. Which tests are you using? Smile

Wise0wl · 26/01/2020 20:35

😂😂😂 @littletandme it wasn’t meant to be but it is true so I guess so!

Eatsleepbakerepeat · 26/01/2020 20:37

@MimiArm I'm just using some I got off amazon 🙈 says about needing a strong line not just a faint line which worries me that I'll read it wrong I'm mainly using them just to check my LH does increase I know it doesnt guarantee ovulation but it will give me some peace of mind
I also feel like I'm doing wrong as I'm waiting for a procedure which I cant be pregnant for and was advised to not try
But the main reason I'm having it is so it doesnt stop me having children so if I am by the procedure that can just wait until post child
It could be an 8 week wait and I font want to miss2 cycles
Just hope I'm not being silly 🙈🤦‍♀️
Who knew these things were so complicated!

Wise0wl · 26/01/2020 20:40

Hello @Eatsleepbakerepeat like @MimiArm I used Clear Blue digital this month and it was super easy, I had 7 days of flashing smileys and then static the next day

@Hatepickinganame I think it must! Not only because when my DH has too much then there’s no chance of DTD as he passes out 😂

Hatepickinganame · 26/01/2020 20:43

Hahaha @Wise0wl yeah that wont help 😂😂😂 i cant stop reading that tww page now, doing that thing where 2+2 = pregnant 😆 Must. Stop. Obsessing. Someone send help 🤣🤣🤣

Eatsleepbakerepeat · 26/01/2020 20:46

@MimiArm @Wise0wl so I would wait for the dark solid line to know when I'll be ovulating in 24 ish hours and make sure we dtd that day? The oh has read that most couples do it 14 times a month when trying to seems to have that in his head 🙈
So dont think dtd will be a problem if we stick to that 🙈🙈 just so I know when to class dpo from! Who knew it was all so complex 🙈

MimiArm · 26/01/2020 20:52

@Eatsleepbakerepeat I haven't any experience of the amazon ones but I've seen lots of posts in other threads here. Could it be an idea to take a pic each day so you can monitor the second line to see it darkening?

Do you have regular cycles? Or do you know yourself your rough ovulation timeframe? I had been on mini pill and stopped on 13 Dec - haven't had any period since so I really felt I needed the ovulation test to help me out. But since reading up, I now know how to spot the symptoms. My own doctor even told me not to waste money on OPKs, and to just follow the clear sticky discharge (of course I didn't listen - I know best 😁)

MimiArm · 26/01/2020 20:55

@Eatsleepbakerepeat your plan sounds good to me. When I got the LH surge, we did it that night, and also the next two nights. Before that, we tried for every other night as we didn't know where I was in my cycle (except for when I went psycho bitch on him - hormones eh haha!)

notetaker · 26/01/2020 21:07

Welcome to the crazy gang @Eatsleepbakrepeat!
I’ve been using cheap opks and they’re alright. The Glow app has a feature that lets you take a photo of your opk and logs it for you, which I’ve found really handy.

@littletandme @Wise0wl damp January 😂😂😂

Eatsleepbakerepeat · 26/01/2020 21:10

@MimiArm that sounds a good plan! Like I say were just using it to get an idea just hope theres a clear change, maybe I should have gone the smiley face ones 🙈🙈
I tired to look for all this but this month was our first month ttc and I thought I'd watched everything well and then began with sickness tiredness feeling hot constipation thought it might have been it but nope af rocked up all beit lighter so back to the drawing board still tired so think my body is just playing daft tricks on me so decided I wanted a "science" based idea as my body cant be trusted :P
My periods are regular they weren't when I stopped the pill took about 9 months to get back to normal but 30 day cycle ish now so pretty regular to try track it that was.
Am I right that I'm looking for egg white stickiness for ovulation or totally wrong there 🙈

MimiArm · 26/01/2020 21:21

@Eatsleepbakerepeat You're absolutely right about the egg white. TMI alert - when I wiped I was sure that period had started and when I checked, it was the egg white stuff. There was no mistaking it!

It sounds like you're all set from what you've said so 🤞🤞

littletandme · 26/01/2020 21:30

@Eatsleepbakerepeat I use the cheapie OPKs and these are my tests from 3 days before ovulation to today (2dpo). They start of light but visible when you enter your fertile window and then get as dark as or darker than the control line when LH is at its peak then you should ovulate within 48 hours of the peak. Hope this helps! I use Femometer app and there is a little "course" on there that explains everything about OPKs and everything else!

Totally can't keep up with this thread now!! Welcome @Eatsleepbakerepeat .... I've just gone with the easy option (clear blue smilies) but not easy on the bank balance and I'm sure the cheaper ones are just as good but taking pics may be an idea to see how it changes Smile

professorastrocat · 26/01/2020 21:33

That all looks pretty nifty I may have to get that app @littletandme

Hatepickinganame · 26/01/2020 21:33

@littletandme do you have to do them at the same time every day?

littletandme · 26/01/2020 21:36

@Hatepickinganame not necessarily, I could only do them after work during the week but as long as you have about a 4 hour hold and not first thing in the morning it should be okay. I did extra ones on the peak day and the day of ovulation just to check if they were getting darker or lighter from there as I was very surprised to have even ovulated only 8 days after having my implant removed!

Eatsleepbakerepeat · 26/01/2020 21:38

Hey so just one a day or different times of the day?
Also do you just trust apps for roughly when you'll be entering your fertile window?
Sorry for all of the questions and super sorry if I've taken over this thread 🙈🙈

littletandme · 26/01/2020 21:39

Oh and best odds for getting pregnant according to Femometer are DTD 2 days before and day of ov. Rather than day before and day after, although if you've covered all days then you're golden!

littletandme · 26/01/2020 21:41

@Eatsleepbakerepeat I only did one on low days but I did two on the high/peak days, I just didn't record them. The tests in the photo are only 1 per day, I just took a few photos because the app was giving slightly different "scores" 🤷🏻‍♀️
