Worried the line isn't getting darker

Hi all,

Please can I have some advice.

We have been ttc for 7 cycles now and I'm 3 days late for AF. We tested on 12 dpo and got a bfn. I then had a tiny about of brown blood on 13 dpo which i hoped was implantation. Then at 15 dpo I got a very faint positive on a clear blue early response (it was the only one I had left). I didn't take a photo of it in the time frame but yay! Now at 18dpo I've tested with a FRER in the hope that the line will be darker but it's still very faint. Photo attached. I was really hoping it would be darker Sad

All tests have been with FMU and I think the FRER is a sensitivity of 6.5 and the clear blue is 10. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else? And if so was everything okay? Or was it a chemical?

Hi OP. I think at your dpo you should be expecting to see the line a lot darker. Unfortunately the only time I've had a test like this I went on to have my period a few days late. With my other pregnancies I've had obvious positives from around 10dpo. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you anything more positive. Is there a chance you are maybe an earlier dpo?

Thanks @Crystal87 that's what I'm worried about.

I wasnt temping or using opks but went on EWCM and ovulation pains. They match up with the prediction on Flo.

As you can imagine I'm crazy emotional, does anyone have any positive stories? X

Unfortunately light lines can often suggest a chemical in my experience. However the only other explanation is that you ovulated later than you originally thought so your not as far along as you think. This can happen so not wanting to take away your hope away, but I think people on here try to share their experiences as to not lead to false hope. I'd suggest you retest tomorrow or Monday and see what's happened to the line and maybe stick with frer so you can see accurate line progression. I hope it's a faint bfp for you though good luck xx

Just wanted to close this thread off incase its found in the future by people in the same position and doing lots of Google searching like I did. I was reading posts from years and years ago! My line ended up progressing nicely and getting darker ( Smile ) but then turned out to be a ectopic pregnancy after a small bleed/localised pain and scan at the EPU ( Sad ). EPU and gynae ward have monitored blood until natural miscarriage. If someone finds this in the future and ends up in the same position (I'm so sorry if you are Flowers), there is a sticky thread on the practicalities of MC on the mumsnet miscarriage board that has been invaluable x
