Hi everyone,
This is my first time on here so please bear with me... I have taken 3 tests 1 Monday night, one Tuesday morning and one yesterday (Thursday 2nd) they all showed up as negative after the 5 minutes the test said you should wait but on looking a short while after they all have 3 faint coloured lines on them showing positive? I am so demented not knowing if I am pregnant or not... AF isn't due until Wednesday 8th Jan. Could I be pregnant or is it just coloured evap lines? any advice would be appreciated...
Thanks in advance.

Really we shouldn't look at tests after tk e time frame as we can dry up on the indent where the true line should be and it can give us an evap line. These tend to be grey in colour. However having 3 in a row is a little odd. What type of test are you using? A lot of in here would say to make sure you use a pink coloured dye one as tv e blue ones the dye when pale can look similar to grey so it's easier to mistake an evap for a positive if you get me. I'd be inclined to buy a different brand of test and test again tomorrow, good luck Thanks

When I first tested with my first pregnancy I tested very early like 7/8dpo! I had very very very faint lines that could only see holding up at certain angles in certain light which only appeared outside the given time ((More than 10mins) and they turned out to be true bfp, any hint of colour no matter how faint I think is promising, was for me anyway. Good luck

@sarahc336
The first test I used was a Boots pink dye but it was 2 clear blue early tests I used after that as I don't live near a boots and was off work so had to make do with blue ones. My confusion is that they all have a colour not grey... But all of them are so faint but only after the time stated, I am scared to take another now incase it is negative and bursts my bubble.. been trying for nearly a year now :-( x

If there's colour to them it sounds promising. Are you testing early, this would explain why the lines are so faint xx

Happiness2717 · 04/01/2020 12:45

@sarahc336 yes I am not due af until around wed. I took another this morning, boots own brand and I got another faint line! Really want a clear line that i am not squinting at lol x

Took a first response test not long ago and it was negative.... now I am more confused than ever! 4 positives and 1 negative!! Anyone had someone similar to this? X

Boots tests are rubbish imo, have had real positives with them, but also very clear pink lovely lines which were totally false.
Clearblue I don't rate either, never had a false positive but they always have awful indent lines. Hopefully you get the result you want though

TwinkleStars15 · 04/01/2020 14:14

@Happiness2717 if you took a first response and it was negative then assume you’re not pregnant - they are the most sensitive on the market and can pick up hcg at 6miu which is extremely low. Clear Blue don’t usually pick up less that 25/59miu depending on which one you use.

Happiness2717 · 04/01/2020 14:18

I dont understand how I can have 4 faint positives though. It feels weird to ignore 4 tests just because first response says negative. I dont know... heads scrambled. X

Can you post pictures?

Happiness2717 · 04/01/2020 14:33

It wont let me upload photos. Sorry x

I had a false positive on a boots own brand in September I've heard they're v unreliable

Happiness2717 · 04/01/2020 15:23

Yes but how does anyone explain the 2 positive clear blue ones and the positive boots pink dye and the other boots one this morning? X

@Happiness2717 I understand your frustrations, I really do. You said in your original post that the first three tests didn’t show a line within the timeframe, so you have to discard the results. They may be evaporation lines as they appeared after 5 minutes.
I don’t think new members can post photos - I’m not sure how long until you can...

lucymagoo · 04/01/2020 17:12

There's a good reason the instructions say not to read results after the time frame, I'd wait a day or two and take another sensitive test with your FMU when you can. Good luck I hope it's good news for you
