Hi all, I'm 43 and have been TTC for 2 years now, I know...I left it late meeting my forever DH 😬.
My journey so far....One early m/c in Feb '18 (5 wks- natural), one in Nov '19 (13 wks- IVF) and found out today I got pregnant immediately after that m/c in Dec '19 (naturally) but despite being two weeks late, my hCG levels are so low it's likely I'll miscarry again shortly.
While it's not a pretty picture, and everyone's story is different, I'm still so hopeful for all of us 40+ers. Of course age is a factor but it's not the only factor by a long stretch. In July 2019 I was told I was going through early menopause and the likelihood of conceiving at all was a whopping 1% only to get pregnant the next month with IVF on the first attempt! (hence the username)
I was advised to take DHEA (always talk to your doc before), which saw my FSH go from 40+ in July to 7.2 in August. Acupuncture has helped at every stage and (sadly) I believe drinking a little less has too...boo.
Having heard my news today it's hard for me to say it but please don't give up hope, women DO conceive and give birth to happy healthy babies in their 40s, it's not impossible, in fact it's an increasing statistic...
Fingers crossed and baby dust to us all ❤️🙏
