Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone had any experiences with the Clear Blue Digital Dual Hormone Ovulation lots (purple one)? Mixed reviews on Amazon! Thank you x

Yes I did with last cycle we tried.
I had high hopes with them but I got flashing smileys forever never got a solid. I ran out & just used my cheap strip opk tests. They worked spot on as we conceived using them!
My advice. Don't waste your money on them just buy the cheap ones.

CoffeeAndCarbs · 01/01/2020 12:03

I had been using cheapie OPK strips from Amazon to track ovulation, bought CB Digital Connected (the one with an app for your phone) and conceived first month we used it. Might be coincidence but I'd recommend it. Takes the guess work out of 'is that positive or nearly positive' x

I used clear blue ovulation digital

Bought 2 so I used them for 3 cycles .. got a lot of Highs but never saw any peaks so ditched them 😞

Ginge35 · 01/01/2020 12:23

I've used the cheapy OPK sticks and couldn't tell what was what!
I used CB OPK's with the smiley faces and they were bang on! Got the flashing and the smiley face! We didn't conceive last month when I used them for the first time, but with me and DH working different shifts I think we missed the boat!
Hopefully this month! 🤞
I'd definitely recommend them, but I'd also recommend using a period chart so you don't use as many sticks each month as they are expensive!
Good luck!

@MsMiaWallace @CoffeeAndCarbs @lou99x @Ginge35 thank you so much for responding Flowers I've tried using the cheapy OPKs (have about 5 different brands!!) and I get random highs then stark negatives throughout the month so no idea what's going on. May use CB in a few cycles time as reviews are so mixed and they are so expensive. I do use a tracker app (Natural Cycles) but my cycles are long and irregular so I think I'd have to start OPK from CD10 all the way through to CD33 sometimes! Nightmare!! x

I used them last cycle, day 8 blank face, day 9-13 smiley flashing face, day 13 before bedtime finally got the proper smiley face. Think we missed the boat though as my husband took sick. They’re very expensive so I think I’d use them again but try and shorten the window of testing.

FlamingoAndJohn · 01/01/2020 13:11

I did the clinical trials for it a few years ago. (It involved saving your morning pee in the fridge and posting it off).
I’d only just bought one as well so I ran both side by side and used opks as a control.
To be perfectly honest I found that cheap opks off eBay were every bit as accurate.

The big plus with the CB is that you can use your first wee of the day. Other than that it’s no better.

FlamingoAndJohn · 01/01/2020 13:13

And I believe they say to keep testing for so many days after your positive, you don’t need to.

Buy one second hand on eBay and then sell it again afterwards. That’s what I did and made my money back.

@

@Slippingcareer hi thanks for sharing. Did you use fmu or urine before bed? I've just taken a cheap OPK so will see how that goes!

@FlamingoAndJohn thanks for sharing your experience! I didn't know you could reuse the kits? I thought you had to buy a new one every month? I struggle to test every few hours with the cheap OPKs as I'm conscious that I'm getting obsessed so testing once with fmu is really appealing to me.

I used FMU but then after getting so many flashing smiley faces I tested a couple of nights before bed too.

2childrenandout · 01/01/2020 16:47

Asda own ovulation sticks were the best for me.

kimadey · 01/01/2020 17:17

CB digi ovulation tests worked for me. If you test when you're meant to there shouldn't be a problem.

As soon as I got flashing smiley (high) I would test twice a day until I got my peak. Sometimes it was high in the morning and flicked over to peak in the evening. Good luck x

FlamingoAndJohn · 01/01/2020 17:36

Ah. I might have been talking at cross purposes. It was the fertility monitor I had, this was about 5 years ago now.

danielasummer · 02/01/2020 19:20

Thank you so much everyone for your comments @FlamingoAndJohn @kimadey @Slippingcareer @2childrenandout I think I will give this a go in a few cycles time if I haven't conceived. It's hard to know what will work but it's worth a shot I think.
