Hiya Lovelies

I hope you are all well...

I'm current on the copper coil, have been for a year now.

My partner is really adamant on having children, which I would love to but not just now.

Firstly how do yous cope with pressure from inlaws and partner for children?

And secondly those who have had the copper coil removed, how did this procedure go and how quick after did you fall pregnant?

Hope yous can help!

Thanks
X

Been on copper coil iud and removal was so quick like 5 sec cough

Didnt try to get pregnant after though!
And regarding pressure i would just say that i want to be the best mum to my kid and that’s not now. Or any other of your good reasons to not want kids now :)
This is your life!

Good luck

Don't cave to pressure.... having a baby is a huge commitment and can be really really hard. I can't imagine having survived the last year if I wasn't 100% sure it was the right thing for me (dd is now 16mo) she's amazing but it's been a long hard road. I wasn't ready for a baby for a long time, so it's perfectly normal. As for coping with the pressure I found a simple I want kids but in a few years and refuse to rise to any more talk about it was the best way. It's good practice for dealing with all the well Intentioned parenting advice you will probably get down the line too! I grew myself a pair of mama balls and a thicker skin!

As for the coil removal it's dead easy, I had mine removed when I needed cervical treatment and they literally just pull the threads when you cough. It's like 1% of a smear test! I think you should have a normal cycle the next month as there are no hormonal changes with the copper coil.

Procedure was over in a few seconds and I got pregnant the next cycle. Smile

Ummm, I sort of pulled and mine came out! Very painless. I actively want to be ttc and was surprisingly sad to start my period yesterday.

Had my coil taken out 20th November and it was over with in seconds, had a little cramp the day after and that's it. However when my next af was due I only had 1 day of bleeding and 1 day of spotting so I'm hoping my cycle regulates again soon so we can conceive.

Good luck :)
