Hi! This is my first time on here so apologies if I go wrong somewhere. I took a test this morning just one of the cheapy ones and I waited after 5 minutes and though I saw a line? Im 3 weeks late for my period and I am getting a bit worried. I had a copper IUD in but I was having issues for about 3 weeks so I went to the doctors on the 3rd December and they said it was falling out! So obviously I don’t know how long it had been out of place for but me and my partner weren’t using any other contraception up until that point! I went back to the doctors last week to try and get a blood test but he said they don’t consider a missed period cause for concern until you’ve missed 3 or 4 in a row! angry so now me and my partner are panicking a bit, I have done a few tests but this is the first time I could see a line (or think I can) unless I’m just going mad at this point blush thanks for taking the time to read, I know it is a bit long hahahaa. I am trying to attach a picture but I can’t see how to at the moment hahaaa

How long does the test tell you to wait before reading it? I thought it was 2-3 mins? I'd be pushing for blood tests, I believe (though could be wrong and thinking of something else) that falling pregnant whilst having a coil in can cause issues

I'd recommend getting an FRER from Amazon or Morrison's and using that and checking the result within the recommended time and then post a picture here. (paper clip at the bottom of new post - think you can only use function after having account for a few days)
It's likely an evap or a faulty test as if you are 3 weeks from missed period you should have a very strong line by now

I'd go to the docs and get blood tested then request a scan if you are. Chances of an ectopic with an IUD is much higher.

Thank you all for your replies! I think I might try the family planning clinic today and ask if they can do the blood test for me. I'm just a bit more concerned if I am because I'm a type 1 diabetic and obviously with this not being a planned pregnancy I did have any preconception care from by diabetes team

Do you have any other tests to take? Frers are best if you can get one. Can you upload a pic of your test?

I tried uploading one earlier but it won't let me because I'm new I bought a first response today so I'll try one of those in the morning

Looks like the stick has been flooded, can't see a positive, maybe try another test and pee in something and dip it in instead
