Dtd 2 days ago, ovulating today?

What are the chances of becoming pregnant? I always have 4 days of obvious ewcm starting at around day 12 of my 28-30 day cycle, dtd on day 13 (day 2 of ewcm) I reckon I’m ovulating today as always get the back ache and abdominal pain on the 4th day of ewcm. The cm that I always get for 4 days stopped straight after dtd on day 13 so not had my usual cm on day 3 or 4 which is not normal for me. How common is it for sperm to survive/become pregnant dtd before ovulation? (I’m guessing ovulation 2 days after dtd) Wpuld that maybe why I’ve had no ewcm for all 4 days, only for the 2 days until dtd, would it stay inside keeping the sperm alive!? (Sorry, don’t know how else to put it!) I know I just wait now but just wondering what anybody thinks, do you mostly get pregnant on actual day of ovulation of is still a high chance if dtd 2 days before 🤔

Well so sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days in the right conditions and I think that's why people can get pregnant by surprise (this happened to me with my first). They say your most likely to pregnant by having sexual the days before ovulation as if you wait for ovulation itself you can miss it so it's best to have sperm up there waiting. So your defo not out this month just yet Smile

I did (she is 13).

I'm In a similar situation. I use the ava bracelet and it said I was due to ovulate on boxing day. We already dtd on the 20th and 22nd so went again on Christmas night! Then the next day ava told me my parameters weren't conclusive and changed my ovulating day to the 27th! Dh and I have low sex drives and we're a bit worried it would reduce our chances of fertilisation. So I did some research and found out the chances of fertilisation via dtd 2 days before are good Smile. Also found out you shouldn't dtd every day during the fertile window anyway as it can deplete the spem supply. So you're not out yet. Fingers crossed for us both to get bfps.

Will sperm be there waiting even if what looks like most of it coming out straight after dtd? (sorry tmi)

Op, are you me?! I have the same worry also Grin. I also looked that up and though I'm not 100 sure, apparently the sperm take off right away. The stuff coming out is just the gloop (as one website put it!)

gg321 · 29/12/2019 20:56

Haha ok, so the waiting begins, I’m a symptom spotting addict, no way will I be able to put it to back of my mind

www.parents.com/getting-pregnant/why-does-sperm-leak-after-intercourse/ have a read of this, it's quite reassuring.

Good chance of pregnancy, I got pregnant this exact way with a girl each time.

Perid0t · 29/12/2019 21:01

We dtd 5 days before ovulation and I still got pregnant (pull out method!)

ImALostTeddyBear · 29/12/2019 21:03

Hmmm the link doesn't seem to be working on the app but if you go on the mobile or desktop site it works. How long have you been trying for, if you don't mind my asking? Is this first baby? I too am awful at symptom spotting and taking pregnancy tests far too early! Not this time though, definitely going to wait until/if my period is late. Too much heartache otherwise and I'm fed up of it Sad

gg321 · 29/12/2019 21:08

I got the link and read it thanks! Wouldnt be my first and not trying, just don’t like using condoms or being on the pill so we take risks, obviously would be happy with a pregnancy but it’s not like we’re ‘trying’. How about you?

Oh I see, I apologise I thought you had been trying Blush. This will be our first baby have been trying for 2 years Sad. 24 times I have been kicked in the teeth. I know others have had it many more times but it is starting to really hurt.

gg321 · 29/12/2019 21:17

Oh bless you, have you been to docs at all? I feel bad now saying not my first and not even trying, sorry x

If you're having unprotected sex when you have ewcm and know all the acronyms then you are most certainly trying Confused
