When to test?

I started doing OPK’s 3 months ago and each time I have started spotting exactly 5 days after ovulation. I’m now on 9 dpo with no spotting. I woke up throwing up during the night on Friday and have been nauseous since. Though I fear I could be imagining it and I REALLY don’t want to get my hopes up as we’ve been trying almost a year. So the question is when should I test??

Hi with me implantation happened at 7dpo and I tested at 9dpo and got my positive albeit a faint line, I was very impatient but if I were you I would test today but as you are not using fmu I would limit my fluid intake and hold your urine for at least 3 hours or just wait until morning, bear in mind even if its negative try again a few days later as we all implant at different times. Let us know how you get on. X

I
Know there will be some women out there who said they were sick straight away, but I think you'll find most pregnancy related sickness does t start until after your af is due, at 5-7 weeks pregnant, just don't want you getting your hopes up xx

I would test now with a First Response early results test if it were me.

Breakfastat · 29/12/2019 15:50

@sarahc336 thanks that’s what I thought and that the sickness is probably just a coincidence!

@MarshmallowsOnToast @Ele38 we are going out for dinner with our family soon so I might test tonight or first thing tomorrow! I don’t like testing as I can’t deal with the disappointment. Will let you know how I get on!

Yeah sorry to sound negative but we've all been there haven't we Blush convinced ourselves a symptom is defo a pregnancy symptom and then af shows up. Good luck though I hope you get your bfp very soon!! Smile

Breakfastat · 29/12/2019 16:04

Oh yes i know it’s so hard not to imagine/wish it is pregnancy symptoms. Regardless of the outcome, I’m taking this as a positive as it’s the longest luteal phase iv had so far!

Oh in that case then that is a good sign!!! Maybe it is good news and the sickness was just in related Smile

Unfortunately I have started spotting which means I’m out. Really gutted but on to the next month and at least I made it to 10dpo this time!

It could be implantation bleeding. When is af due?

Breakfastat · 30/12/2019 13:16

One app says yesterday and the other says Saturday. Unfortunately I’m pretty sure it’s AF as spotting is normal for me ☹️

sarahc336 · 30/12/2019 16:55

I think a luteal phase of 10 days can be seen as normal, have you spoke to anyone about your concerns? Xx

Breakfastat · 30/12/2019 17:27

No I haven’t spoken to anyone yet, I was tested for PCOS a few months back but the tests came back fine. It will be one year in March so I might go to the GP soon. This is the first time iv made it to 10dpo without spotting so I feel a little bit of comfort knowing I have had what counts as a normal luteal phase!

sarahc336 · 30/12/2019 19:23

Yeah I'd maybe get it looked at as can't early spotting be related to low progesterone?? Hmm xx

Breakfastat · 03/01/2020 01:12

Yes that’s what iv heard so I’m going to speak to the GP about it. So I’ve had what I think was my period but has been very different to all of my other periods. Not enough to fill even 1/4 of a light tampon. I’m pretty sure it was a period though but part of me is so hopeful it’s implantation bleeding. I suppose I’ll find out next month 🤷🏻‍♀️
