TTC & Antidepressants

Morning everyone!
Does anyone know if it’s OK to take Antidepressants whilst TTC? What are everyone’s experiences with this?

I'm on Citalopram and Aripiprazole (antipsychotic), my psychiatrist and GP have both said they are comfortable with me TTC whilst on them.

Have you spoken to your GP about it?

I am on them. My GP was comfortable the benefits outweighed the risks but moved me to sertraline from citalopram as it is considered lower risk to the baby.
I think the risks are very low anyway I just wanted to put my mind at ease.

I take 50mg sertraline (reduced down from 100mg). I had the conversation with my GP and although he said there are risks, taking antidepressants while pregnant and TTC is very common. One GP told me they weren't safe at all which was not helpful and my GP was annoyed that he had even told me that.

It has been over 3 months from having the implant out and my cycles are too short to conceive so struggling here. I am presuming it's down to hormones from the implant but I conceived right away 3 years ago after stopping the pill and no AD's. I managed to wean myself off the sertraline for a week but I was a total worrying mess and stressed I went back on 50mg and I'm managing fine.

@BernadetteThreep @Yorkshirelass04 @Beau2019 thank you all for the comments ! I’m on 50mg or Sertraline and not feeling ready to wean myself off them just yet so going to see how they go! I have an appointment at the docs on Tuesday so will ask and double check then.

Your comments have reassured me though so that’s good ! Hope your TTC journeys are going well! I’ve only just started mine, currently on cycle #2 ! X
