Spotting during ovulating???

Hi ladies! I had my missed miscarriage procedure nov 4th, i got my period dec 12 and it lasted 4 days. This week my app says I’m ovulating but I’ve been having very light brown discharge. The first day was last Saturday and once again after having sex 3 days ago and again today. Has anyone had this happen to them during ovulation week?? We’re TTC and now that this keeps happening I’m scared I’m actually not ovulating or could it be due to ovulating??

Hi, we sound so similar, this happened to me last cycle also. I'm so sorry for your loss x I know only too well the pain of a missed miscarriage and cycle confusion afterwards. I had this and then my temp rose a week later to confirm ovulation. Hope your cycles go back to normal soon x

I’m so sorry for your as well! And thank you for responding to me, I’ve been racking my brain all week not knowing what is going on. I have been checking my temperature everyday and writing it down. I’m hoping to conceive this cycle so seeing the spotting had me scared i was going to get another period extra early

@Mommy10 I've had it quite a few times, it's ovulation bleeding & completely normal but a pain in the arse.

Hi, sorry to jump on this thread OP! :) @MrsChicken89 just wondering if your ovulation spotting was ever red, every time you wipe and a little bit on your underwear? It's gotten a tiny bit heavier today but nowhere near a period. Have been googling all day and worried myself so just wanted to hear of your experience x

@danielasummer it was mostly always pink and when I wipe but the odd time it was heavy enough to go on my underwear.
I was the same when I first started ov spotting, and googled for hours. It usually only lasts a few days but the last few cycles I've spotted from OV to my period which is annoying, I've had all tests done so I know it's nothing nasty.
Apparently it's due to a drop in hormones when your ovulate for something.

@MrsChicken89 thank you for sharing your experience. Has stopped today so no idea if it was ovulation bleeding or not. Will have to wait and see I guess! Glad your results came back ok x

@MrsChicken89 could I ask you re ovulation spotting up til period and the tests you had, do you know if it would affect chances of conception? I'm on my 6th day of spotting, period due New Year's Day. Am TTC and thinking I must be out this month as the womb lining is already shedding since 7dpo!

@esmerelda1988 I'm on my 3rd cycle of spotting all the way through from OV to AF, when I went to the doctors a few weeks ago I did say we were trying and she went through all the results, and never mentioned it being able to stop us from conceiving. I'm sure when I've been googling other people have the same issues and it's never stopped them.
I would say to get your cd21 bloods done to check progesterone if you haven't already, mine came back fine so it's not low hormone levels for me, but being low would stop you from being able to conceive I think.
I'm back at the fertility clinic in April! So along away, but I'm going to mention it again then.
If you do find anything extra out then please let me know?

@danielasummer don’t be sorry!! I’m still trying to understand the ovulation spotting also! So any questions asked helps me ☺️ Mine was only pink Saturday morning when i first went to the bathroom after waking up then it went to brown. It did go away yesterday. Now today i did have some gooey white discharge.. I’m assuming it’s due to ovulating also. @esmerelda1988 I’m also trying to conceive, that’s why i got so nervous once i started seeing the spotting.. my last day of ovulating is Wednesday so Im in my 2 week wait to see if we get a BFP 🤞🏻

@MrsChicken89 I had my 21 day results- 68 and GP said I'm definitely ovulating. I'm going to ask again re the spotting- I went to the GP originally for that (I had it 3 cycles ago as well as this current one) and she just said that unless it was 'mid cycle or after sex' it wasn't a worry. So apparently it's normal to bleed sporadically for a week then have a full on period

@esmerelda1988 mid cycle spotting could be ovulation spotting though so may not be a bad thing, also spotting after sex could be because the female is too dry or sex aggravated the cervix.. or so I've read/been told! I may be wrong though?

I'm on day 3 of spotting, today is super light, on CD 24 with no ovulation yet as due to ovulate today or tomorrow or even just after new year. I read that spotting around ovulation means you're very fertile so fingers crossed. Xx

@esmerelda1988 so are you spotting for days then having a period? I tried using OPKs this cycle but had 2 days about 4 days apart where they were strong positives so I gave up and now I just temp! ☺️

Yes but not every cycle, just at random but it's so annoying I wanted to start temping but I always wake up at 6am for a wee and I'm not sure I'd manage to start taking my temperature before stumbling out of bed, then it disrupts the four hours asleep you're meant to have! How long have you been TTC for?

@esmerelda1988 hmm I'm not sure why that's happening to be honest. I spot for a day sometimes before my period starts. Did you say you had a dr appointment for this? (Sorry I cant scroll down and read previous posts from you as I'm on my phone app and need to continue typing!)

This is our second month TTC after a miscarriage in October. We weren't trying for that baby as we got married a week before we conceived (we were SO happy it happened though and obviously absolutely devastated when we lost our baby). Convinced that conceiving was a fluke though as my cycles are long and irregular, and I'm sure I have progesterone/thyroid problems so getting checked out for them now. X

@esmerelda1988 also with regards to temping, I wake up a few times a night but as long as you just temp before you wake up after the longest stretch of sleep, you should be fine. They recommend 3hrs of sleep for accurate temping x

@danielasummer thank you! I'll give temping a go for reassurance. I had a docs appointment where they said it was nothing to worry about then I didn't have it again until now which has made me worry..again!

Sorry to hear of your loss..I'm sure if you've conceived once you can and will again

@esmerelda1988 it is a total minefield isn't it and so confusing/worrying. What's worse is that my dr sometimes doesn't have a clue what's going on which doesn't fill me with much confidence! Are you going back to the dr?

@danielasummer what is your average tempt for ovulation? I checked it everyday since last Monday and Monday being the highest at 98 and it’s been at 97 since Friday

I end up spotting for 9 days then my period starts so pretty much for 2 weeks, it's so annoying.
I also temp using an ava, so I know I'm ovulating and temps stay up till AF shows up. So I don't think it stopping me conceiving.

@MrsChicken89 when you say spotting (TMI alert) do you mean very light pink/brown? My pre-AF spotting starts like this then it'll turn into a blob or two a day of red blood but very much not a flow. Bit worried this isn't a good sign, feels like it might indicate womb lining coming away very early

@hettysdrawers yes usually very light pink from cd18 then a few days before AF it gets a bit heavier then turns in to AF.
I've always spotted a few days before AF and never thought anything of it, it can be a sign of low progesterone but my cd21 day levels have been fine, even had them done whilst I've been spotting & came back fine.

I was worried about the same thing tbh, but since all my level have been fine I'm not sure what else I can do.
