Conceiving a girl

Hi 😊 I’m a mum to 2 gorgeous boys (One’s 4, one’s 9 months) and we’ve decided to Try for our third (and last!). Seeing as we have two boys we’d love a little girl, and I’m just wondering if anyone has any tricks to conceive a girl? Just got fun really. I’ve had 3 losses so I’ll be absolutely blessed regardless of the sex 😊

There is some research that suggests that you're slightly more likely to conceive a girl if you have sex, once, a few days prior to ovulation, and slightly more likely to conceive a boy if you have sex a couple of times right on ovulation. Which is not dissimilar from the Shettles method, the scientific theory of which was debunked, but AFAIK it was found that it seemed to work anyway, and the thinking now is that it's because Y sperm capacitate slightly earlier than X sperm. So, if this is to be believed, Shettles was right about what to do, he was just wrong about why you should do it.

It's also very much not a guarantee. Short of IVF sex selection there is absolutely no way to guarantee the sex of a baby. But if you're fairly relaxed about having either sex of baby then aiming for a particular time (I think the suggestion is usually 2-3 days per ovulation for a girl) can't do any harm.

Thanks everyone - the Chinese moon chart is right for my youngest but not my oldest. I think we'll just try only having sex up to a day before ovulation
