It's just before you ovulate, and it's a case of working out when that is. If you were to have sex every day or every other day from days 8 to 18, that would cover it but if you want to get a more accurate idea, temping or opks might help.

sweetkitty · 26/08/2007 13:57

If cycle day one is the start of your period (CD1) and you have a 28 day cycle you are probably most fertile CD14 i.e. 14 days before your next period but theres probably 5-6 days each side of this that is your fertile time.

Sorry I'm not explaining it very well think there are websites like fertility friend that you can put your details in and it can plot charts for you.

sweetkitty · 26/08/2007 13:58

sorry I meant 2-3 days each side so 5-6 days in total (I'm tyong myself up in knots today) beansprouts right sex every 2 days day 8-18 is a tried and tested method.

cylon · 26/08/2007 14:01

thanks.
i dont actually want to get pregnant.
at all.
just trying to work out if i might. and what you have said, sounds like bad new s to me.

so sex once on day 15, using withdrawal. what are the chances of that?
please tell me zero?

OP posts:
lulumama · 26/08/2007 14:07

it's never zero, and if your cycle can stretch to 31 days, there is every chance that you have ovulated after day 14.....

if not too late, get the MAP or get a coil fitted to prevent pregnancy, if you are not wanting to get pregnant,

belgo · 26/08/2007 14:08

cyclon - there is a chance you can concieve using withdrawel if you had sex on day 15.

is it too late for you to take the morning after pill?

lulumama · 26/08/2007 14:08

withdrawal not the most reliable method if you are really not wanting more children

cylon · 26/08/2007 14:08

lulu, what's map?
and where can i get a coil fitted on bank holiday weekend?

OP posts:
belgo · 26/08/2007 14:10

map:morning after pill

lulumama · 26/08/2007 14:11

morning after pill

local chemists will sell it

will be a list of duty chemists in local paper

also , family planning might be open ..worth a phone call

cylon · 26/08/2007 14:12

it's bloody dh isnt it. refuses to wear a condom, wont get the snip. etc etc.
i got pregnant with a coil in. so not particularly keen to get it refitted as not much use inthe first place. also had a baby whilst on the pill, and using a condom(though we didnt use it properly)
which is why abstinence is really what has kept me babyfree.
surge in homrones, and i'm sitting here worrying about it on a sunday afternoon.

sweetkitty · 26/08/2007 14:13

Sorry not what you want to hear but theres loads of people I know have LOs due to the withdrawal method, men produce pre come before the main event and this is loaded with little swimmers. Withdrawal is not a good form of contraception.

I believe you can get the morning after pill from the chemist now (called Levonelle is that right?) theres bound to be one near you open on a bank hol.

lulumama · 26/08/2007 14:14

bless you sweetheart

hard situation

DH needs to take some responsibilty, you are clearly very fertile if got pregnant twice using contraception, withdrawal just won;t cut it, and you cannot play russian roulette every month

have you visited family planning? there are more options, mirena rather than copper coil, different pills, implants, injection....

sweetkitty · 26/08/2007 14:15

tell him no condom = no loving

what about that implant thing think it goes in for 5 years and you forget about it, or the injection or if you are 100% sure you don't want more children sterilisation?

cylon · 26/08/2007 14:15

three times lulu.
right, off to find out where i can get map from.
it's bloody expensive as well isnt it?

OP posts:
lulumama · 26/08/2007 14:16

tis about £20 IIRC....you can get it on prescription, for free, i think, but sounds like time is of the essence

don;t be , if you have used contraception properly, and it failed, then you are unlucky...

sweetkitty · 26/08/2007 14:17

make him pay for it

best of luck x

potoroo · 26/08/2007 14:31

Look for Billings method - this is a way of accurately plotting your cycle based on mucas, but you must be vigilant.
