I've seen lots of people saying that alcohol can artificially raise their bbt, but has anyone found that it lowers it? I've been drinking a lot more than usual over Christmas, and for the last 3 days in a row (7-9dpo) my bbt has been lower than 36.5°C, which is the same as my cover line. I've used bbt as a contraceptive method for years and I've never had such a sustained low temperature during my luteal phase. Last month for example, my bbt didnt drop below 36.8°C until 10dpo, and didn't reach the cover line until 12dpo, 2 days before AF. My cycles are very regular, and ovulation this month was confirmed by tracking bbt and LH tests. Could this be due to unusually high alcohol consumption?
