What on earth is going on? These were all taken from the same urine sample which I peed on at 4.30pm..a few different brands, the wondfo ones are coming up darker than the others. Is today peak? Why are they so variable?

Thanks in advance!! X

It's hard to tell from the photo but based on personal experience I wouldn't say any are peak, just high. There's huge variation in brands, I've tested multiple brands with the same sample like you and had similar results. Keep testing for the next few days, and also get down to business just in case.

@Sulkypatsy thank you for your reply 🙂 it's so hard isn't it..I'm not sure why the app has said peak then? I will do another test at 7.30pm and see how I get on x

It's a minefield! Sometimes the premom app isn't the most accurate, if you take a few photos of the same strip you can get different readings, I just use the app as a rough guide tbh. When I first started with the strip opk I used the clearblue at the same time, to confirm. I'd recommend that until you get used to what a true positive will look like on the strips. Also I'd highly rate the brand easy@home, wondfo are the next best to them, but not quite as good.
Hopefully you'll get a clear result soon, but don't let the opks stress you out too much, dtd as much as you can every second day preferably(unless there are sperm issues) and you'll always have your fertile window covered. I know it's not always that easy though. 🤞 for you

danielasummer · 23/12/2019 10:28

@Sulkypatsy ahh really? I was relying on that as I never trust my own line eyes haha! Ahh well, we've decided to just DTD until my temp rises. That seems the safest of options.

I did use 3 Wondfo then couldn't believe it so I tried 2 other brands. Big mistake - big confusion! Never again. I'll try Easy@home the next cycle I think. Thanks for the heads up there :) Did the CB work well for you? Was it the purple digital? I've heard mixed things so I'm a bit cautious x

The cb did work well to confirm my suspicions on the strips, I started with the purple one, advanced. But I wouldn't necessarily recommend them in particular, there's tons of reasons for getting lots of seemingly high fertility days(which are often not fertile at all) that can stress a person out. The pink ones that give a smiley face for peak reading are the best imo. They tell you what you really need to know. You can use them with whatever strip brand you settle on to get an accurate reading for what peak looks like on that strip until you get used to it. Hopefully you get pregnant before needing that level of expertise though.

Dtd just in case. They do look like peak to me. Even though they are quite light the control line is light to which is what you compare it too. If you keep testing and it goes lighter than you know it was definitely peak. But just dtd as many days in a row as you can! Good luck. Also it will vary between brands and some are more sensitive than others. So best to stick to whichever brand gives you the darkest result.

danielasummer · 23/12/2019 19:35

@Sulkypatsy thank you so much for your advice. Think I will try the pink one next cycle. So you can just use any sticks, not necessarily the CB ones with the pink kit? I could use my Wondfo ones in it and it'll work?

@MsChatterbox Hi, thank you for your advice. It's just so early for me to ovulate but I did have a miscarriage in October so maybe my cycles have shortened as a result? I have no idea. I'll just stick with Wondfo I think. I couldn't believe my eyes so I did some other brands too.. I totalled seven OPKs. Haha! Thank you so much for posting :)

The sticks for the pink clearblue kit come with the kit, and you can only use the pink ones with holder.

Same if you go with the the purple advanced kit, you have to use the corresponding sticks, and they don't sell refills for either color so you have to buy the kit with a new holder each time.

I'm sorry for jumping on your thread here but I'm wondering if my peaks are really peaks here . I've been using wondfo the past few weeks and they seem alot more sensitive then my old brand

How early is it? I got a peak on cd7 once... Kept testing and got another one cd17! So I would keep testing as well!

danielasummer · 24/12/2019 14:18

@Sulkypatsy thanks so much for your advice. Crikey, bet that gets expensive! I think I'll go for the pink in the next few cycles if I haven't caught by then.

@dublino I'm not sure to be honest but like @MsChatterbox I'm going to keep testing until my temp rises just in case.
