Faint BFP

I'm on my way for a beta blood test (several hour round trip) which will obviously answer all my queries but in the meantime maybe you can help my obsessive overthinking!

Got a very faint BFP at 6dp5dt (FET) on FRER and another faint one the next day on clear blue early, neither FMU. Yesterday at 8dp5dt I got an even fainter BFP on FRER using FMU. Tested again later that day with clear blue and it was about the same faintness as the previous clear blue.

Last night I compared the clear blues and the bottom one is the more recent. Obviously they've dried out a fair bit so maybe that explains why the more recent one now looks stronger? It didn't look stronger after the first 3 mins.

I'm assuming chemical I guess. Any views?

These are the FRER, pics taken at 3 mins but they have now dried a tiny bit more obviously pink.

Don't assume chemical just yet. I know it's easier said than done but try not to compare lines. Sometimes my FMU lines aren't as strong as the ones from the previous afternoon which is very frustrating. The line is there 🤞🏼 your result comes back high.

They look good to me. Not all tests have the same amount of dye. Hcg also takes approx 48 hours to double at this point.

Assuming that the conditions that you took the FRER on either day were the same - eg FMU etc then you would expect it to be darker than it is for being 2 days difference between them however you can never really tell without a blood test and I've heard of loads of people have really faint FRER but have a high hcg blood test x

Well it wasn't good news. HCG 22.6 so little hope of it turning out ok but have to repeat the blood test Monday.

@YeezerDoxng sorry to hear....

YeezerDoxng · 23/12/2019 14:36

Well today it has more than doubled so I've got a Christmas of limbo as obviously can't get a blood test on Xmas day! Still very very low though.

Any update Op?

sarahc336 · 27/12/2019 16:45

22.6 isn't really low, did you say it had doubled? Xx

ceebee21 · 27/12/2019 17:22

@YeezerDoxng have you had another blood test since? I’m in a similar position xx

YeezerDoxng · 28/12/2019 08:40

Had another blood test yesterday and it had continued to increase so was 349, up from 53 on Monday. I don't need another test as clinic is happy with that but they've advised a scan at 6 weeks to check it's not ectopic. It is still lower than average but my last BFP was 577 @ 16dpo and that was a blighted ovum so high doesn't necessarily mean good news. My only successful pregnancy was twins 15 yes ago and my HCG for them was 177 on 14dpo so I know it varies a lot.

What's yours ceebee?

Sounds good!! When I had a Mc mine went from 13 to 1 in two days so happy to hear your news Smile

Closing this thread off for future low HCG searchers, but scan at 6 weeks showed a single baby with a heartbeat.
