Question on OPK colours

Yesterday I did an OPK. It was a dark line but not dark enough so still negative. Today I did an OPK but it was very faint, much lighter than yesterday. I’ve definitely not ovulated yet.

Can the colour of OPKS go darker to lighter up to ovulation? I thought they would get progressively darker over the week so to get a faint one after a dark-ish one surprised me

Thanks!

Hey. I'm no expert firstly. As far as I know it should get darker. However I learned last week that you shouldn't use your first morning wee but your second and from about 10am onwards as your lh hormone builds up throughout the day . I got alor better results using my second wee around 12pm
