Evap lines after the time limit?

Two Sainsbury's tests which I know aren't always the most reliable.

I took one yesterday evening and one this morning with FMU.

I got negative on both but perhaps a very faint barely there shadow line on this mornings but still negative, I'm sure.

I've kept them both and now they both have blue lines where they should be.... I know also that it says invalid after the time and this is due to evap lines once your wee has dried etc... but I always thought and read that evap lines are grey?!

These are clearly blue......

Any chance these are actually positive, I am fairly sure they're not! But anyways you know how we get!

I've read quite a lot of stories about similar lines and some ended up as BFPs and some got AF shortly after. AF due today I think and no sign just yet but I appreciate it's still early.

My hopes aren't up so don't worry you won't crush my soul if you tell me it's evap haha I'm more just curious about evap lines... I find it odd that if they only turn blue when there's HCG present, why would they turn blue at all if there's no HCG....

@Blondeandbroody hey, im in the same boat! Done 2 clear blues, one last night, one this morning.. both have lines like yours after about 15 minutes! So i done a digital clear blue, said not pregnant, so i opened the test up and there is definitely a blue line, that was after about 5 mins and test was still wet 🤔... its such a mind game!

Blondeandbroody · 18/12/2019 19:51

@Diamond94 what's the time limit on yours, it should say don't read after X amount of time?

Dont bother with blue dye!

I see a thicker dark line on bottom test though!!!

Try with a pink frer! And good luck Smile

Diamond94 · 18/12/2019 19:59

Yeah i think its 10 minutes... so i done a FRER on monday, definite pink faint line within the time.. so next morning i done an IC and FRER, IC has a faint line but FRER bfn! So i done a clear blue last night which has a faint blue line after a good 30 mins.. i done another clear blue this morning and theres a bluer line there, just slightly lighter than the control test, so I decided just to do the clear blue digital, knowing it would say not pregnant! So i opened it up and there was definitely a blue line there! I am so confused 😐 i am only 9dpo, so very early

I think the added negative with blue tests is that the grey evap can sometimes look blue ish as they're similar colours aren't they. Looking at trays after the time frame is really bad as so many tests will show some kind of evap line. The best thing for you is to re test with a pink dye test and go from there. I hope they are true lines but I'm not 100% confident from what your saying, good luck Smile

Blondeandbroody · 18/12/2019 20:48

@sarahc336 I'm not confident either tbh it was just odd that they were very blue (more so in person) and I always hear Evaps have no colour. I'll test again in a few days. Thanks lovely.

@Ohnoherewego62 thank you 🥰

@Diamond94 that's confusing!! Try again in a couple Days? X

I'm in the exact same boat. Late.. Very similar looking results with the sainsbury test and the FRER this morning was BFN. I've accepted I am likely not pregnant.

Fingers crossed for you

Jurassiclover · 18/12/2019 22:48

I had similar before and it turned out I wasn't pregnant! I just stay clear of blue dye tests now!

Blondeandbroody · 18/12/2019 23:19

Thanks @Jurassiclover @Sxd515 that's pretty much what I thought annoyingly I've bought some clear blues but I wanted the digital one and it was on offer for a pack of early result ones with the digi. They're blue dyes too.. I'm not convinced I'm PG this cycle so kinda want AF to come if she's gonna so I can save money in tests haha

I will see how I get on!

Thanks again
