Low HCG, will I MC? ☹️

PurpleRayne89 · 17/12/2019 17:59

Had my blood test this morning. Level returned as 15.1 doctor said this was low and would like to repeat on Thursday this week. Start of cycle 20/11/2019, IUI on 30/11/2019. Faint BFP 11 days post IUI. Cramps in stomach and lower back, discomfort in boobs.

Period was due today, nothing! Tomorrow I will be “a day late”. Due to my low HCG do you think I will MC or is there still a chance?

All responses welcome and appreciated 🥰

There is always hope. Hcg doubles every 48 hours so it could be normal. Only time will tell I'm afraid.

Whyhaveidonethis · 17/12/2019 19:28

Posted too soon... Good luck

@whyhaveidonethis thank you and I hope so.

So it was a positive pee stick test 6 days ago but the blood test today was hCG of only 15? I wouldn’t say that’s very promising but hope I’m wrong.

sarahc336 · 17/12/2019 20:15

Mine was at 13 when I started to bleed so I'm hoping your has started off low and will be increasing but 15 is very low I'm afraid to be 4 weeks, good luck though Thanks

PurpleRayne89 · 17/12/2019 20:19

@JoJoSM2 thank you for responding. Yeah doesn’t look good at all to be fair. I’m on progesterone pessaries (Cyclogest) not sure if that’s what is stopping me from bleeding. This whole situation is just really a low point. X

@sarahc336 hey, thanks for responding. Yeah I did think it was rather low. Doctor said it was low, I could hear in her voice she wanted to say impending MC but I understand her wanting to do another test before she’s able to advise me further. X

Yes they need to compare the levels to a second blood test. Mine went from 13 to 3 in two days so it can drop very fast. When is your second test, tomorrow? Let us know what they say Thanks

PurpleRayne89 · 18/12/2019 14:26

I’m sorry that happened to you, I know how news like that hurts so hugs to you 🥰

Test is tomorrow at 8am, I will post an update in the afternoon, I’ve booked the day off work just in case it’s bad news. During the time your levels were decreasing, did you still have symptoms of pregnancy? I still have lower back pressure, occasionally cramping in my pelvic region and sore, heavy boobs which are bigger than usual x x x

@sarahc336 forgot to @ you

Took a first response after work today and was white as snow, well yellow (tmi). Need to drink more water at work.

Anywho, tells me what I deep down already knew. I don’t think I’ll attend my blood test tomorrow as it’s going to conclude it was a chemical and no explanation as to why as it’s IUI and not IVF.

I do thank you all who commented ☺️

@PurpleRayne89 I knew I was miscarrying as I literally had no symptoms once my bleeding started, like literally none and the few I did have now I look back has subsided in the 2/3 days before I started to bleed so I assume my levels were decreasing even before I started to bleed. I kinda had a feeling it was going to happen as my boobs were suddenly not sore, I wasn't tired at all etc Smilexx

Spacebowlisback · 18/12/2019 23:08

I could be wrong, but if you have a natural HCG level of say, 2, and it doubles every 36-72 hours then surely this is viable given that we’re talking about a 6 day old pregnancy?

PurpleRayne89 · 18/12/2019 23:18

@spacebowlisback I understand what you’re saying as I would have thought that too. But the hcg level at baseline is pretty high for that time like in the 100’s and doubles dramatically over time. Unfortunately my pregnancy tests are white now, not even an evap lol. So I’m guessing it was a chemical.

I cancelled my hcg test at the clinic as it’s a waste of time as let them know I will resume treatment after Christmas.

Oh I’m so sorry OP.

PurpleRayne89 · 19/12/2019 14:25

@Spacebowlisback thank you and it’s ok. I guess things like this happen to have to try and stay positive. X

I had a chemical around Christmas time. It somehow feels a bit worse at this time of year but it will happen. I am sorry.

PurpleRayne89 · 19/12/2019 18:01

@Spacebowlisback thank you, it does suck as like you said the time of year. I was so upset on my drive home but I just have to try again. Sorry to hear about your loss also. How long did it take you after your cp? X

OP posts:
Spacebowlisback · 19/12/2019 23:32

The next month Smile

PurpleRayne89 · 20/12/2019 03:30

@spacebowlisback aww really glad for you. I can imagine how anxious you must have been when you became pregnant again after your cp. congratulations also x x

So sorry @PurpleRayne89 about your early loss. Flowers
I just wanted to let you know that I too had a chemical and also conceived the following month. I'm crossing my fingers for you!

PurpleRayne89 · 20/12/2019 18:26

@nicecupofcoco thank you, I appreciate your well wishes. Fingers crossed x

I am so sorry for you loss ❤

I just wanted to say incase this gives you hope for future pregnancies. I had my hcg tested in my current pregnancy when i was around 4-5 weeks and it was 18, no one was hopeful! However it did rise to 80 then 300 something i stopped getting tested after that!

My little one hung on in there! So it can happen and i am sure one day it will for you ❤

PurpleRayne89 · 20/12/2019 19:18

Hi @cookielove thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience. I do hope so, I will have my third IUI in Jan.

Still waiting for my period to come but maybe it’s the progesterone (cyclogest) pessaries I was on delaying it.

X

I think it can delay your period x
