Was just wondering if anyone else has or is trying to concieve following the copper iud removal?

Did your periods go back to normal quickly?

How long did it take you to conceive?

:)

I don't know if I'm the exception, but I had my coil out on the Tuesday and fell pregnant by the following Wednesday if the conception calculators are right 🙃 the copper coil has no hormones in so shouldn't really affect fertility other than getting your periods regular again, but my periods were regular when I had the coil in so I don't know if that helped? Sorry I'm not much use 😂

Wow that's amazing @splishandsplash! I had regular periods with it too to be honest but September/October was irregular. I had mine removed on the 20th November during my af, I wasn't keen but the doctor wanted to get it out while I was getting it checked due to my late period in Oct! We decided to just leave it out and try for a baby. I have stupidly convinced myself id get pregnant instantly 🤦‍♀️😂 but this gives me hope! I think my period is due this week, had cramps on and off since Friday I just wish af would arrive and get it over with 😂

@splishandsplash how long after removal until you got a positive pregnancy test if you don't mind me asking?

I he mine taken out of dec 28th and never had a period as I was pregnant first cycle!

Cranberry3 · 16/12/2019 18:56

@soberfabulous really! 😁 I really hope it's as quick for us, my last period was the 18th Nov and my coil was removed the 20th Nov, I've had cramp on and off since Friday but a negative test this morning so I kind of got my hopes up 😂 I thought I was being optimistic hoping for it so soon but its definitely possible! 🤞

@Cranberry3 i took the test 4 days before my period due date 😊 (somehow I just knew)
If your periods were fairly regular that's a good sign for you!
Good luck to you! Keep us updated x

@splishandsplash I definitely will 😊 thank you for taking the time to comment back! 😁

@Cranberry3 I'm in the same boat! Coil removed 13th Nov, period was due on Friday and no sign of it yet. I've read on a few other threads that the first cycle after copper coil removal can be delayed, though - just FYI! Best of luck

Cranberry3 · 16/12/2019 20:16

Ah really! The Dr who removed it said my cycle should just remain the same 😩 thanks for the heads up! I did have it removed during my af and I've been cramping since Friday so I have a feeling it's on the way!

A little update as promised, I'm now on CD33, unsure on my cycle length it was 28-30 days but October it was a long 42 days 😳

Coil was removed 20th November, I've had period cramp for a whole week now but still no sign of it showing and a BFN this morning!
