Hi all :) could anyone please help.. my first cycle resulted in period. I'm not going to start getting too upset but it did hurt. I got boots ovulation test and I wanted to know if anyone used these and what days it means I should dtd? If it's a faint line does that mean ovulation is coming soon so I should just start trying ?? Or should I wait for the big clear line that matches the test line or have I missed the previous fertile days so ?? Ill attach pics of my tests in next message if anyone has used..

Thanks so much in advance x

Hi Chick. Like you i was so confused about this whole OPK testing business. I stopped my pill in September and didn't use any tests because i was too naive to think 'oh I'm not on the pill so if we dtd ill be come pregnant'! Anyway after a lot of researching and reading online i bought some cheapie tests from amazon and started testing on and off in october, however because i wasn't too sure of my cycle i wasn't sure when to test etc. Fast forward to the the end of november after my AF arrived, i started opk testing a few days after my AF ended everyday and because i never knew what a positive test looked like because i used the cheapie tests i kept dtd every time i thought the link was darker. Anyway because i tested everyday (2 to 3 times a day) i saw the line getting darker each day until yesterday the test line was just as dark as the control line and i knew then i would be ovulating. So we dtd deed before today which is my ovulation day according to this app i use (and once i put in the positive test it changed my ovulation day). I would say start testing a few days after your af until you get a positive and you will see the line gradually getting darker as you approach ovulation. Once you get a positive you should dtd within the next 12 to 48 hours. I recommend the cheapie tests. i got a pack of 50 for around £10 from amazon and they really do work. Digital tests are only worth it when you are sure of your cycle. Good luck!

Hi ladies, is implantation always obvious? Are there always symptoms of it ? Its crazy how much stuff I am unaware of , I didn't think it would be this hard🙈 thanks

Thanks so much @jenna30 !! Have you found a pattern with your ovulation date from using them?
@AnnaPosie is this your first cycle? Implantation would be distinctly different than af, much lighter!x

@Newbie1992 so on Saturday just gone, was the first time i got my positive on my opk test and omg i was ecstatic (imagine my excite if i get a bfp)! The main reason i was so happy to get the positive was because after stopping the pill in September i had no idea what my cycle was like so found it hard to track ovulation. I recommend the tests i have been using because from a cost perspective they are very reasonable for the amount of strips you get which i found i needed to pin point my ovulation.

@AnnaPosie Im not the best person to advise on implantation bleeding as i haven't experienced it but what i can say is from the tonnes of posts i have read it tends to be light and not like a regular period. Its more seeing the bleed when you wipe as opposed to wearing a pad or using a tampon when you have af. It also light in colour (pinkish).

I'm reading over lots of threads and it's freaking me out to be honest! I use an electric blanket at night but read somewhere that you shouldn't when TTC?
Does anyone the truth about this please ?!

jenna30 · 16/12/2019 22:00

@AnnaPosie hiya im guessing you use an electric blanket? I wouldn't worry about it now. but maybe refrain from using it whilst you are ttc? How long have you been trying? X
