Conception=Complete mind f***

So here goes.. my first post after hovering around this site for a few weeks. I’m 3 months in TTC and I feel like I’m going stir crazy!! All I can think about is conception and I’m latching on to every possible symptom!
I am 29 and have a heart condition (found not to be genetic thank goodness!) which could progress within the next 5 years and so my Cardiologist has recommended we don’t wait too long before starting a family. Me and my husband decided to take the plunge but I never imagined it would be this complicated or stressful (I wish it was as simple as my high school teachers had threatened it would be!). Adding further s* to the mix, I work in Nuclear Medicine and so I am exposed to ore radiation than the average Barbara and probably not doing my fertility any favours! Anyway, this last week I have had some strange cramps/tugging around my left ovary and across my lower abdomen. Been feeling a bit sicky and have slightly sore boobs (but the boob thing isn’t much out of the ordinary). My period isn’t due until the 18th and I am scared to test yet for fear of being disappointed. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I am hopefully but convinced my symptoms are all in my head.
Any advice would be helpful!

Hiya! I get a very similar feeling when I'm ovulating so it could be that? Hope you get your BFP soon

Thank you @Amberb82 apparently according to my OPK I ovulated the week before but they are just as confusing as this 'guessing the symptom' game!

Are you testing anytime soon?

We’re the same age, however I’m on cycle two now. I get it, I’ve bought 100 ovulation tests, lots of pregnancy tests. I’m trying to track everything and I just feel like it’s a bit overwhelming and it’s just the beginning. I need to treat this less like a military operation I think. Have you consulted your dr on whether the radiation will have a definite effect? Symptoms do fit, but I convinced myself last month and AF came today. So maybe wait a bit longer to test. It’s horrible when you test early (eager beaver me) and then you’re disappointed and just waiting for AF.

It's such a mind F isn't it 😫 We have been ttc baby no 2 for 7 months now, every single month I convince myself is THE month and that I feel all the symptoms 🙄 I even had a pack of cheap tests showing faint positives a week before AF this month so that was disheartening.

Do you think you will test before or wait till late AF? I'm going to do my best to stop testing early now, it's getting too expensive 🙈

@Littlepea90 totally right about the militant operation! I have tried to chil about the whole thing but it has totally consumed my life! I've actually felt better finding these chats though for support as it has been soooo difficult not asking my mum and best friends for advice on all of this! I think the radiation I will receive is minimal as many co workers have had healthy babies no problem bit its always in the back of my mind! Hopefully we can see this journey through together and soon both get our BFPs if we stay strong 😁

@Amberb82 I am the same. I've been so sure for the last month or two that I could be but I guess the mind is so powerful it can make you believe you are having all sorts of symptoms. I am going to try and wait until closer to my AF (maybe day befofe) to test. Just keep thinking how it would be the best christmas prezzie EVER!! Will you be testing before Christmas also??
