Getting ready to ttc

Hiya :)

Feel a bit of a fraud posting on this group already as not actively ttc quite yet! We’re moving house next week and want to get settled before thinking about starting our family 😍 super excited as feel I’ve been waiting for 6 months already thanks to a few of my friends and sister having little ones in the past year! Loved being the auntie but so ready for it to be my turn! We are looking to start ttc April onwards (mainly due to maternity leave policies after starting a new job in sept!) just wondered what preparation anyone would suggest for ttc? How long before should you start vitamins/folic acid? Apart from cutting down on alcohol are there any other things that would be good to get into the habit of before April? :) thanks for any advice! Xx

You should start taking folic acid as soon as possible.

Trying to get both body and mind in a healthy place. Good healthy food (lots of fruit and veg for the vits) and a bit of exercise, maybe cut down a bit on caffeine if you are drinking a lot of coffee but otherwise carry on life as normal. It's so cliched but the key is to relax and enjoy the process as much as poss especially as it can take a while. I think advice is to take folic acid for a couple of months before TTC.

All the best and good luck!
