Difference between implantation bleeding and PMS spotting?

I took a first response pregnancy test yesterday morning at 10dpo which was a BPN but later in the day I started spotting. Can you tell the difference between implantation bleeding and PMS spotting? (I'm praying it's implantation bleeding)

For me, implantation spotting happened at 10dpo and was a brown colour. It never got red or heavy. I then got positive at 11dpo.

Implantation is not normally bleeding as such - just a few brownish spots ( if anything). Most women have nothing . Calling it "implantation bleeding" is not correct ,since bleeding isn't normal at implantation.

@Waiting1987 thank you! Yes mine came as brown discharge. How long did you wait from getting your implantation bleeding to do a test? X

I got a negative the day of spotting and assumed it was my period. Then the next day I got a positive. I spotted on and off throughout first trimester too. I think it can take a few days to get a positive after implantation though, so you could try testing again if it's negative.

Couldn't tell a difference between mine. Both pregnancies that I had implantation bleeding in, I thought it was the start of a period until 4 days later it stopped and I took a test. Once it was brown and the other time pink.

I'm 9 or 10dpo and had pink this morning when I wiped. Was convinced it was period but now it's stopped I'm hoping it's implantation bleeding.

Will be gutted when AF shows! Wish she would just start properly and stop me over thinking

Op, that is a lovely update! Congratulations. I started a thread on here the other day as my period came 6 days early. That was 2 days ago and it has stopped now. I'm currently waiting not so patiently for my pee sticks to be delivered to me today! My bleeding started off pinky brown but got a but heavier and then just stopped. Fingers crossed but I am not holding out any hope, its probably just a weird period. Anyway, congrats again op.

That's reassuring! You've given me hope. I obviously had implantation bleeding my last pregnancy but that was brown rather than pink. Will see what tonight brings!
