BFN after miscarriage now BFP?!

Hiya,
I’m having an absolute crisis atm. I sadly had a MC last month at about 9 weeks (started bleeding on 15th November) followed by BFN on 28th November. Me and DP decided to start trying after BFN. As it’s my first post MC cycle I have no idea when/if I’d ovulate

Had a sharp stitch like pain in where my left ovary would be on Friday just gone. Yesterday and today have been feeling super rough, tired and sick so thought I’m just going to do a test even though it’ll be negative... it came out positive

I wish I had waited until after first period before TTC as I’m now left very confused wondering whether this is a new pregnancy or old hormones from miscarried pregnancy Sad

Ring the EPU, op. It can happen, happened to me, and I did go on to have a healthy pregnancy but it can also be leftover from the failed pregnancy and they'll likely scan you to check. Or do HCG draw. Good luck.

@LimpLettice thank you!
Just done a CB digital and it says not pregnant so now not sure what to think... although done several other tests including cheapies and CB (non digital) and showed faint positive... think I will test again in the morning and then call EPU Smile

I'll keep it crossed for you, @stickytoffeepud123 I know it's a difficult time. I had a series of miscarriages, and was gobsmacked when I started feeling sicky again so quickly. DS was conceived a week after a 7 week m/c and it was so hard to stay positive. Those digi tests aren't very sensitive anyway, but you need to know in case you need any treatment.

For encouragement, however this pans out, I had 3 losses in a row and then DS, and I'm unexpectedly in the early days of another pregnancy a year later. 🤞🏻

@LimpLettice thank you so much, it is reassuring to know that you went on to have a successful pregnancy following your miscarriage (and congratulations on this pregnancy too!)

I think I will call the EPU tomorrow morning because I need to know if it is a new pregnancy or if I do need treatment!

And in the meantime I’m sure I’ll drive myself crazy by carrying on testing 😂

Digital tests are the least sensitive so takes the longest to get a positive on them Smile

@LimpLettice @sarahc336 just thought I’d update I’ve got a scan at the end of the week to see what exactly is going on, but have done more tests in the meantime and the internet cheapies seem to be fading but a First Response test has come back with a fairly obvious positive, although I know they are much more sensitive than the ICs so I think my HCG is dropping Sad

I was wondering how you were doing @stickytoffeepud123. I'm glad they're getting you in to check. The waiting is awful. During my last M/C they did 2 HCG draws and their testing machine broke or some such so I had to wait even longer for what I knew would be bad news. I empathise. I'm still keeping it crossed for you, you just never know.

Good stuff with getting a scan sorted and they'll probably take a blood test and then repeat it 2 days later so they can see if your levels are increasing or decreasing so you'll know much more then I guess xx
