Conception - Life after Lap and Dye

Hi new on this website

its been playing on my mind, i had lap and dye on 3rd July this year after three years of trying to conceive, found out that i have fibroids, blocked fallopian and endometrosis. Am going this Friday to see the consultant for a follow up and i am bricking it, i dont know if it will be good or bad, i did ask the nurse after the op what would be the next step and said that it would prob be tablets anyone else in the same situ as me at mo!

not in that situation, but have one dd due to ICSI, and just found out there is no hope of any more. it's very hard & i feel all symapthy for you. people who haven't had to face these problems have no idea of just how awful it is.

roseca - I do feel for you - haven't been in your situation but do feel for you (and hope this bumps your post).

the only thing I can say is that whatever the consultant says it will give you more answers - but it might be better to know your rather than torturing yourself with the What ifs after your tests last week.

I wasnt expecting anyone to be in exact same position. I just finding it even harder as a couple of pple at work are preg 1 due next month (as its her first) she is going on about it at every opportunity and it is making me feel even worse. At least i suppose i now know the reason why it hasnt happened yet but just hope that positive things will begin to happen for me after Friday

what is dd and ICSI ???????

dd= darling daughter (look at acronyms list at top)
ICSI is a form of IVF - more so than standard 'put 'em in a dish & hope' kind. so i went through years of tests, operations & treatment to get my dd. trying to explain that i sort of know what you're feeling - it's awful when you have one of those 'this could be it, they might say no' days.

i actually jsut finding my way round site saw the acronyms list after ur mssge. I just hope that Gynaecologist offers me sum sort of hpe as i am in2 my 30's now and time is startin to run out. If i manage to have one child i wud be more than happy.

i had dd at 34, and they were very confident at fertility treatment that i was young enough. at 38 though it's not so easy & we have hit the end of the road hope all goes well.

I would ask the cons whether the lap was done only as a diagnostic procedure or whether anything surgical (i.e treatment of the fibroids, diathermising the endometriosis deposits etc) was actually done.

Drug treatment on its own will not touch adhesions if they are the cause of the fallopian tube blockage, surgical removal of the adhesions needs to be done.

www.endo.org.uk is a very good website re endo and on their message board there is a list of questions that you can ask of the cons post lap.

Its not looking great currently but its not completely a hopeless outlook.

Hi everyone

soz i didnt get bak earlier went caravaning in Scarborough. I went to see the Consultant but saw his Registrat on friday, the lap and dye was for diagnostic procedures. I asked about the fibroids and they said that it only measured 1cm and was on the outer side of the womb, the endometriosis was only very minor and they said that it didnt give them any cause 4 concern, the consultant then came in and he said that it wasnt anything to worry about. They have started me on Clomifene but have just missed out this month as the decorators ave already been in so ave 2 wait until nxt mnth. My sis in law is a midwife & she had a friend who was on same med and conceived within a month, i ave a follow up appt in 3 mnths, so hopefully fingers crossed i will ave gud news shortly

roseca my sister-in-law had really bad endo and conceived her first child with IVF. Has since had three more children (very easily and naturally) so there is hope. She was 33 when she had her first child.

kickassangel, my heart goes out to you. I also had my dd at 34 (after several years of ttc) and approaching 38 suspect that I may also be nearing end of the road. It's so hard when others seem to fall pg so easily. I am so grateful to have dd though, so am trying to keep perspective (not easy though sometimes!)
