Hi everyone, just making this thread as it seems a few of us will be trying SMEP to TTC! Adding these lovely ladies in from another thread but I hope everyone feels free to join! All welcome :)

@Devgirl31 @fayy123 @NCON @MrsKJW19

Some stats about me:

TTC #1
27 years old, DH is 28 years old
Missed miscarriage in October 2019 at 7+2 weeks
Still in that cycle (no AF yet)
Long and irregular cycles, some anovulatory
Suspected low progesterone/hypothyroidism (I think this based on symptoms, not diagnosed yet!)

Hope we can all provide support for each other in this crazy TTC journey.

Feel free to introduce yourselves :)

@bluemoon2468 aw I'm sorry AF arrived. Just think though, you're one cycle closer to holding your baby.. that's how I'm trying to look at it anyway. Sending you luck xx

@Bunny2006 thank you, hoping my doctor can shed some light on the numbers! How are you getting on with DTD every day? It's exhausting isn't it. My DH and I have totally accepted it's a baby-making exercise now! X

@mrsbevans2403 hi lovely, welcome to the group! Sending you lots of luck this month. How are you getting on? X

Anyone else finding that sex is now a baby-making exercise? DH feels the same. There is no spontaneity in it any more and we're DTD every day to cover all bases (I have irregular cycles). DH is fine with this as he really wants this baby too. But I can't help feeling a bit gutted and weird that after 9 years of great sex it's now all turned into a science experiment...anyone else in the same boat?

@Shazzzzz everything but legs crossed 😉 this year is definitely going to it! That dreaded 2WW...

@danielasummer thank you 🤩 I'm right at the beginning of my cycle (CD2) so haven't started anything yet! Preparing my husband for what's coming his way! Haha super tough for us as he is on shift the whole predicated 'fertile' window this month.. with an almost 2 year old anytime to ourselves is limited!!

Question ladies - what day do I record as CD1? My period started through the night of New Years.. do I say 31/12 or 1/01?? Will use OPK for the first time this month too but just want to be as accurate at possible CD8...

ChampooPapi · 04/01/2020 12:47

Just reposting an article I read that encouraged my daily sexual adventures this month

ChampooPapi · 04/01/2020 12:51

I will definitely not be keeping it up evey month though 😴

@danielasummer Hi! Getting on ok so far, tbh DTD is actually quite fun at the moment. I was on medication earlier this year which meant we had to avoid getting pregnant so the whole DTD became quite stressful and worrying. Now that we're clear to try, my anxiety about it has gone away and I really want to DTD which is great! We have only just started trying though and I haven't gone back to work yet- I might not be saying the same thing on Monday! Can't stop reading all the forums and becoming a bit of a POAS addict. OPKs have been negative since I started testing them from 24th (I think) and started charging BBT from a couple of days ago. Is it normal to get a reading as low as 35.6c? That feels quite low to me! Maybe not though! Hope things improve for you both soon- it's so hard when DTD feels like a chore rather than exciting.

Bunny2006 · 04/01/2020 15:19

@danielasummer I've only just started the DTD every day since DP got back from visiting family for new year, so only on day 3 so far so not too bad! We DTD the day he left (Monday) so DTD 4 times so far. Am hoping to keep it daily now until temps show I've ovulated which should be within the next couple of days or so. I was fed up of it but have had a bit of a positivity boost (not quite sure where from!!) so am finding it fine for now!!

@mrsbevans2403 I would record CD1 as the 1st Jan if period came in the early hours. That's what fertility friend recommends recording DTD as anyway if it happens in the night/early hours. Partner generally finishes work at 12.30/1am so I looked up what day to record that is if that's of any help/I imagine it would be the same for start of periods.

@Pixielou16 My baseline temp is around 36.0 but drops sometimes to 35.5 ish so I think my temp is naturally fairly low. After a bit longer temping you may find your norm is quite low?

Pixielou16 · 04/01/2020 16:13

@Bunny2006 yeah, I thought that might be the case. I've just got a better thermometer which measures to 2 decimal places rather than just one so hopefully that will be more accurate too!

Lucy5546 · 04/01/2020 17:22

Thanks @danielasummer. Yes we just had sex whenever we felt like it. We were actually away around my ovulation so that helped. I will of course keep you updated. I did a clear blue digi today and it said 2-3 weeks so i think im about 5 weeks now. I will be keeping an eye on this thread for the next couple of weeks anyway. Sending some positive vibes for everyone!!

Shazzzzz · 04/01/2020 17:57

Does anyone think its too early to test? I think im only 7dpo and AF is due around the 11th... i know it probably defo is but i just need someone to tell me 😂 i have bought some test ready for when i am testing and they are screaming at me!!

Lucy5546 · 04/01/2020 19:02

@Shazzzzz i would hold off another few days. Testing now you may even get a false negative. I would try and distract myself with something else to keep your mind off it.

Shazzzzz · 04/01/2020 19:09

@Lucy5546 congratulations!! GrinWhen did you test?

fayy123 · 04/01/2020 19:41

@Shazzzzz omg I’m also 4DPO! AF is due on the 15th🙈🙈🙈 Wayyyyy tooo early to test 😂😂 are you feeling anything? X

fayy123 · 04/01/2020 19:42

@Lucy5546 I might try this approach next month!! What app are you using to track? and how many days did you roughly BD? X

Shazzzzz · 04/01/2020 20:05

@fayy123 i keep getting weird twinges in my stomach and my mood swings are horrendous😂 even im noticing im moody!! I think the twinges are in my head haha, i want to test on a weekend when im not at work so if i do get a bfp it can sink in so frustrating!! I will have to wait until next saturday 😫

Shazzzzz · 04/01/2020 20:05

@fayy123 are you feeling anything?? 🤞

fayy123 · 04/01/2020 20:19

@Shazzzzz ahhhha no I’m not feeling anything! Tbh I really don’t think I’m pregnant lol! Only BD 3 times 😂 once on the day of O! Maybe a miracle will happen lol.. how many times did you BD? X

Shazzzzz · 04/01/2020 20:31

@fayy123 i have BD 10 times since the 14th Dec, so just skipped a day until the 23rd and missed 3 days because i was ill 😣 i got ewcm on the 26th so think i might have got lucky with ov timing so i BD 26th. 27th and 28th then every other day since 🙈 its hard work, i have never got positive on an opk though 🤷🏽‍♀️ i dont feel like im pregnant i think the test will be negative but i guess thats how everyone feels when TTC xx

mrsbevans2403 · 04/01/2020 23:43

@Bunny2006 thanks! That's what I have it as - will leave it that way 🙂

danielasummer · 05/01/2020 10:58

Hi everyone. Just a quick question - are you having sex every other day or every day during your fertile window? We have been BDing every day (apart from 2 missed days) for 15 days now with no sign of ovulation, and we're starting to become a bit burnt out! Now wondering if we should go with every other day and see how we get on. But does that drastically reduce our chances this cycle? Help please! :)

Shazzzzz · 05/01/2020 11:49

@danielasummer every other day should keep you covered, how are you monitoring ovulation? X
