Hi everyone, just making this thread as it seems a few of us will be trying SMEP to TTC! Adding these lovely ladies in from another thread but I hope everyone feels free to join! All welcome :)

Some stats about me:

TTC #1
27 years old, DH is 28 years old
Missed miscarriage in October 2019 at 7+2 weeks
Still in that cycle (no AF yet)
Long and irregular cycles, some anovulatory
Suspected low progesterone/hypothyroidism (I think this based on symptoms, not diagnosed yet!)

Hope we can all provide support for each other in this crazy TTC journey.

Hi @mrsbevans2403 hopefully 2020 is the year of new babies for us! 🤞ive heard good things about SMEP, this is my first month, im 6DPO today

@Diamond94 im sorry i cant see a line on either. But iam really bad at seeing lines!! How many DPO are you?

The more i look at them i start to think im imagining it.. im not 100% sure what CD i am, according to my app i am CD27, but im not sure how regular my cycles are as only stopped the pill end of october. So 13DPO apparently.. but i had lots of EWCM last weekend, so i actually think thats when i ovulated.. AF is due 5th so will just need to go with the flow i suppose

@Diamond94 our eyes can playawful tricks on us cant they!! Ah so you could just be testing too early. Id leave it another couple of days and re test!!

@Lucy5546 oh my god congratulations! You did it! Was your AF due this weekend? You must be over the moon, tell us all, did you do smep or just go with the flow?

@lunamoon1 I have absolutely no idea when I am ovulating, after a miscarriage in October I'm really not certain on even af cycle lengths either so this month I'm stepping it up to every day pretty much for 3 weeks.

New research actually says the more you do it the better, the whole regeneration thing has been debunked by other studies but who knows anymore 🤷‍♀️

All I know is that I know we are both fertile so going for as much as humanly possible so every ovulation eventuality is covered. After seeing that a lot of women are thinking they are ovulating at the wrong time I just want to cover all bases.

Will try the opks if I don't catch in the next few months though, I definitely won't be able to keep this up for more then a couple of cycles

Thank you @champooPapi. I just cant believe it!! Well we DTD every second day until i seen signs of ovulation. I didnt use OPKs or temp but followed my CM. DtD every day for 5days.then every other day or 3 days since. But we would normally DTD quite a lot anyway.

Getting a line like that is a relief as well, what a beautiful blessing for the first month of the new year, you must be absolutely amazed!

@ChampooPapi yes i am. I didnt want to think of it as a chore so i just came off the pill and we hoped for the best. Yes im still in shock. Just waiting on OH to come in now and share the news. Im so nervous haha

@lucy5546 congratulations!! That is wonderful news! You must be over the moon! Cycle 3 for me! 😒😭😭 @Diamond94 really hoping you get your BFP!! Did you follow SMEP again this cycle? X

@Diamond94 did you use OPKS also this month? I’m not sure whether I should use them next month lol 😭

No i couldnt follow smep this month as my partner was working away alot! And no i gave up with the OPK they were stressing me out.. just going off CM now

@Diamond94 giving me hope😭😭😭 how many times did you manage to BD?

@Lucy5546 amazing BFP! congrats! Think I will be going for the lots of sex method this month too lol & 5 days in a row, sounds like it may do the trick!

@ChampooPapi sorry to hear about your MC, I hope this month brings some good news for us both, well for us all on this thread!

@fayy123 we only managed to BD 14 times 🙄 its so hard when DP works away

@Diamond94 ah don’t worry that’s better than me lol! Remember it only takes one time ( that’s what I’m trying to tell myself to keep sane during this whole process) when is your AF due? Any symptoms? X

@Diamond94 14 times is a LOT. Depending on how long your cycle is, that's a lot more than would be indicated on SMEP surely (last month mine would have been CD8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, so 7 times)! Don't worry about not having done it enough!

My AF is due 5th according to my app but im still not 100% sure of my cycle length yet.. i have a cold, my nipples are more sensitive, im tired but apart from that no symptoms.. id love to be able to BD every day then I wouldn't need to worry about missing ovulation 🙈

@fayy123 hey lovely, how are you? I'm getting on ok..so much sex! It is a baby-making exercise and I've just kind of accepted that now. Haven't ovulated yet I don't think but my temps are out of whack as I'm down with a cold! How are you doing? Fingers crossed for you this month! X
