Delaying Ovulation - B6 & Other Vitamins

Sorry this might be a long one. I generally have 24 day cycles, ovulation normally CD11.

My last cycle was 20 days with ovulation on CD7/8. Currently CD2.

I was reading up last night and found out it’s not really good to ovulate so early, 11 is borderline, CD7 well that’s definitely not good. There’s not enough time for the egg to mature or the lining to thicken.

I looked at options to try and delay ovulation just to give the little eggy time to mature and my body to get over AF and get in the mood to DTD. I remembered about 6 weeks ago stopping taking the B Vitamin Complex which might explain why I ovulated really early last cycle.

So this cycle I’m going to take B6 50mg to try and delay ovulation a bit.

Has anyone tried this?

I’m also taking Folic Acid, is there anything else I should be taking?

I’m on Cycle #7 now, with 3 early miscarriages in my first 3 cycles and a nasty false positive in with it as well. Xx

Watching with interest as similar here. Can only find advice to lengthen LP rather than the follicular phase.

I did look at various forums and Dr Googled “B6 delayed ovulation” and there are numerous pages and forums with people saying it has delayed ovulation. Some it made it earlier and some no change but general consensus was it delayed it.

I googled “Making Follicular Phase Longer” got nothing!

I know I’ve low reserve so am following “it starts with the egg” and am taking Procieve Max (high B6 in it). Early ovulation is a sign of low reserve so trying everything I can to improve egg quality!

One other thing to note is to be cautious with B6 as it can build up in excess in the body sometimes. Check with your doctor. However, forms of B6 in the "P-5-P" form are generally better tolerated. Have you also looked into CoQ10 for overall fertility support?

That’s interesting. I take extra Q10. That plus Procieve Max feels comprehensive enough. And after 2/3 months on this I’ve finally ovulated at my normal time again (after 2 dud/early ov cycles)!

I’ve not looked up Q10. I just read B6 has delayed some people’s ovulation by a few days, so thought I would try that first as I’m ovulating too early at CD11 and when I came off the B complex it knocked it down to CD7/8. It was the only thing which I changed.

I’ll have a look at Q10 though thanks x
