bleeding after sex

Hi all,

I know this may not be the right place to post, apologies if I have posted it in the wrong part.

me and my partner are TTC, since my loss since September 2018 - we had quite rough intercourse on Sunday morning, shortly after when I wiped I noticed very light pink blood, I was in quite an uncomfortable position and think my cervix may have been bashed a bit,a while after, the blood was red, I had tummy pains, what felt like period pains ( I would be due on 4th to the 6th of this month)
I read online that if you have intercourse near the time of your period, it can bring it on earlier, plus any harsh intercourse can hit the cervix causing bleeding, is this right? I am still bleeding a bit today, nothing that fills a full pad etc.

any advise? had anyone else had anything like this?

thank you

Do you have endometriosis or are prone to cysts?

I only ask as ever since I lost my virginity, I have experienced bouts of painful sex, which was sometimes accompanied by bleeding. Sometimes the pain would start during sex and we would have to stop. It would get sorer and sorer until
I was bent over double crying.

Twice it happened this bad and both times I ended up in hospital with a burst ovarian cyst.

I also mention endometriosis as, depending where you have the growths, it can cause pain during sex and bleeding.

Have you ever experienced pain during sex or bleeding before?

Hi @IAmSickOfWaiting - thank you for your reply, I have not been diagnosed with either of those, and never had any previous issues. Usually intercourse is nothing but pleasurable and don't have any problems, this time I seemed to be in an awkward position and at the start I did feel a stab due to how I was laying and how my cervix must have been or something. so yeah not had any painful issues during intercourse before this is the first time anything like this has happened to me

After my last smear I was told I have an “eroded cervix” - lovely! Caused by the hormones in the pill, occasional minor bleed after sex has been known. No other adverse effects.

Yes I apparently have an eroded cervix as well. It’s also called ectropion if you want to google it. I had mine due to hormones in the coil so not sure if it’s still like that since I’ve had the coil out. The doctor said it’s nothing to worry about unless it was becoming uncomfortable and then they could send me to the hospital for them to burn it off to stop it bleeding. Which to be honest sounded even worse to me!
Might be best to get it checked out. I think they can diagnose quite easily from just taking a look up there with a speculum.
